Ryan Lochte’s ex-wife Kayla Rae Reid accuses him of cheating, compares him to Tristan Thompson

Ryan Lochte’s ex-wife, Kayla Rae Reid, has accused the swimmer of cheating on her with his new girlfriend — likening him to Khloe Kardashian’s ex Tristan Thompson.

Reid, 34, made the surprising allegations during Monday’s episode of her “The Comeback Era” podcast.

“Your technically still-husband is already living with his girlfriend,” Reid’s co-host Caroline Lunny said after accidentally referring to the Olympian’s girlfriend, Molly Gillihan, as Lochte’s “mistress.”

“I’m so happy for him,” Reid replied. “They’ve been happy for a very long time. Very long time. For many years. They go way back.”

The former Playboy Playmate went on to say that she is “afraid of dating” because there were “a lot of women” messaging Lochte while the pair were still together.

“Sadly, it happened a lot,” Reid told her co-host. “I noticed it happened while I was pregnant or postpartum.”

She continued, “You’re at such a vulnerable place, you feel so uncomfortable in your own body, and you just want to feel beautiful and loved and catered to. But it’s like he was fishing elsewhere.”

After Lunny brought up Kardashian, Reid shared that she “sobbed” because she “never related to someone’s story so much.”

“I just felt so connected to her for some reason,” Reid said regarding Thompson’s betrayal of the reality TV star. “I know those feelings that she was feeling so much.”

Thompson, 34, cheated on Kardashian, 41, in April 2018, shortly before their daughter, True, was born.

Despite dating on and off again after the scandal, the pair seemingly split for good when it was revealed that Thompson had fathered a child with Maralee Nichols as a result of an affair.

At the time, Kardashian and Thompson had welcomed their second child, son Tatum, via surrogate in July 2022.

A rep for Lochte did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Reid filed for divorce from Lochte in March 2025. The former couple were married for seven years and welcomed three kids: Caiden, 8, Liv, 6, and Georgia, 2.

She announced their split in June 2025.

“I made the hard decision to end my marriage after deep prayer and reflection,” the real estate agent wrote in a lengthy Instagram post.

“I hold marriage in the highest regard, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing, and challenging seasons of my life,” she added.

Reid went on to hint at a “betrayal” in her and the swimmer’s marriage before Lochte was spotted cozying up to a new woman shortly after.

Earlier this year, Lochte announced that he had moved in with Gillihan and her three kids.

“I fell in love with someone who shares those same values and who has three children of her own,” Lochte, 41, told People back in January.

He continued, “Together, we’re a family of six kids. She’s my best friend, our kids have formed an incredible bond, and it became clear that being together under one roof was the right next step for all of us.”

Reid spoke out last month to say that her estranged husband isn’t the father their kids “deserve.”

Gillihan, 37, took to Instagram one day later and appeared to fire back at Reid with a post railing against “harsh” and “unkind people.”

“Don’t regret being a good person to [them],” Lochte’s new girlfriend wrote. “Your actions say everything about you, and their words and actions say everything about them.”

She concluded, “Stay kind, even when they don’t deserve it. Be kind because God will take care of it.”
