Ryan Reynolds confirms sex of fourth child with Blake Lively days after revealing baby’s name
Ryan Reynolds has finally confirmed the sex of his fourth baby with wife Blake Lively.
The “Deadpool” actor revealed he and Lively welcomed a baby boy in an Instagram post featuring Reynolds and John Bell, a special Wrexham AFC fan who shares a unique bond with the star.
As Bell expressed his grieving journey following the death of his son, Jake, Reynolds offered his condolences and made the surprising announcement.
“I want to share with you that I too have a son and that if … boy, John, if I love him one-tenth as much as you love Jake, I feel like I’ve done a pretty damn good job,” Reynolds said.
The actor, 47, revealed the baby’s name, Olin, earlier this week at the “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie premiere held at the David H. Koch Theater in New York City.
Reynolds and Lively, 36 — who tied the knot in September 2012 — are also parents to daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4.
Bell described his son, who loved Reynolds’ “Deadpool” movies, as “so funny, so comical.”
“We did everything together. He was my firstborn son. He was just absolutely everything to me.”
After losing his son, Bell explained he was “in a very dark place.”
“I was planning my own death and talking myself into staying because my family needs me, my kids need me, What I do now keeps me alive daily because I’ve made my peace with death. I’m gonna be reunited with him at some point, but it damn right ain’t now,” he said.
Reynolds commended Bell for his efforts to raise money for mental health causes.
“The resilience it takes to, you know, put one foot in front of the other as many times as you’ve done it, and transmute that much grief into something powerfully useful,” the actor said, adding that he was “very grateful” that Bell shared his story.
Reynolds and Lively seemingly confirmed the arrival of their fourth bundle of joy in February 2023.
At the time, the “Gossip Girl” alum showed off her growing baby bump in a collection of photos shared on social media.
