Sarah Jessica Parker is still in no rush to watch some of her most famous projects.
During a Q&A hosted by Threads at il Buco al Mare in Amagansett, N.Y., on Aug. 11, the actress, 60, spoke candidly about her thoughts on finally viewing And Just Like That… and Sex and the City — something she has long maintained she has no interest in doing.
“No,” Parker adamantly admitted when asked by Evan Ross Katz if she would ever tune in. “I’ve been talked to about this by the best lungs, and they all have really good reasons why I should.”
“I wouldn’t want my time back,” she continued. “It’s not like I would regret it. I don’t like watching myself. I don’t find it pleasant, it’s not fun for me. I don’t find it enjoyable.”
“And I think the further away it gets from me, the more complicated it would be for sentimental reasons, and maybe even for emotional reasons,” added the Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award and SAG Award-winner. “It’s sort of a hard chapter, to try to make simple.”

Sex and the City followed Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw, Kristin Davis’ Charlotte York, Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones and Cynthia Nixon’s Miranda Hobbes as they navigated all of life’s ups and downs as women.
It later spawned two movies, 2008’s Sex and the City and its sequel two years later, plus a CW series, The Carrie Diaries, as well as a revival and sequel show, which saw its finale air on Thursday, Aug. 14.
The Sex and the City universe, based on Candace Bushnell’s newspaper column and 1996 book anthology of the same name, has a massive following — with hardcore fans of all backgrounds.

Some of those supporters, Parker said during her Q&A with Threads, know more about the character she has portrayed for decades than she does.
“They know my lines much better,” she said with a laugh. “I will remember circumstances, but they have the whole picture. They’re far more knowledgeable about it.”
“I love it,” the mother of three added. “They’ll tell me stuff, and I’m like, ‘Really? She said that? Oh my God. She said that to who?’ ”
And though Parker has no intentions of sitting down and watching any of her Sex and the City projects with a Cosmopolitan — Bradshaw’s signature drink — in the near future, one of her costars took a different approach when reprising his role for And Just Like That…
“The beloved John Corbett, whom I’m so deeply fond of, said, ‘You just got to watch these four episodes,’ because when he came back, he watched everything,” Parker said, referring to Corbett’s reprisal of Aidan Shaw, Bradshaw’s on-again, off-again love interest from the original Sex and the City series.
“He was so swept away and so sentimental,” Parker continued, “and he was so proud of the work.”
“I don’t want to say that it shouldn’t sound like he’s so proud of the work he did, but I think he didn’t realize how wonderful he was,” she added.
All seasons of And Just Like That… and Sex and the City are available to stream on HBO Max.
