Sean Lowe Reunites Kids With Rehomed Family Dog Gus

Sean Lowe is spending quality time with his kids — and their rehomed dog, Gus.
The Bachelor alum, 41, took to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, June 18, and shared videos of Samuel, 9, Isaiah, 7, and Mia, 5, reconnecting with the Bullmastiff. Lowe and his wife Catherine Giudici, the kids’ mother, decided to rehome the dog in 2023 after he injured Samuel.
“Today is one of our favorite days,” Lowe said in a video that he recorded in the car. “What are we doing?”
“Seeing Gus!” his kids happily replied.
Other clips showed Lowe and his brood petting and playing with the canine at The Collar Club Academy, a dog training facility near Dallas, Texas.
Two years ago, Lowe revealed via Instagram that he and Guidici, 39, had made the difficult decision to give Gus a new home.
“Y’all know how much I loved that dog and he was such a great dog,” the former reality star wrote in April 2023. “Great with the kids, well-trained and he was so full of love. However, he showed a couple instances of resource guarding in the past when he snapped at/bit Mia. We did everything in our power to keep it from happening again but one night several weeks ago, [our son] Samuel bent down to pet Gus, and Gus bit him on the side of the head.”
Lowe said the “result was a trip to the E.R. and a staple in the head/ So, as much as I love that dog, I have to put my kids first.”
The family hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to pets. In January 2025, they brought home Moose, a rescue boxer, and two months later, Lowe was rushed to the emergency room after the dog attacked him.
“My first thought is, ‘I think that dog may have nicked an artery,’” Lowe said in a March Instagram video. “And we have the video, which — the video is way too violent. I’m not going to share that, but you hear me saying, ‘This is serious. You got to get me to a hospital. Call Catherine.’ And I thank God that my friends were there because they were able to rush me to the ER.”
After the attack, Lowe ultimately knew that he could not keep Moose in the same house as his kids. He shared that he got in touch with animal control and the adoption agency to discuss the best course of action.
In an April Instagram update, Lowe told his followers that he was “healing” and the scars on his wrist weren’t “as bad as I thought they would be.”
Lowe has said that he thinks he will be OK “from a psychological perspective,” but noted that the past events have “taken a toll” on Guidici, 39.
“I’m super grateful it was me and it was not my kids or my wife, and that I made it out relatively unscathed,” he said of the attack in March. “Have scarred arms for the rest of my life, but I can live with that.”
