Selena Gomez Tells 2-Year Couple She’s ‘Touched’ They Met Through Her Fan Base — and She Wants to Attend Their Wedding

Selena Gomez is honored to be an integral part of two fans’ relationship.

At an event to promote her and fiancé Benny Blanco’s new collaborative album I Said I Love You First in London on Feb. 18, the singer and actress met many of her fans, including a two-year couple who sweetly told Gomez about her role in their romantic origin story. Now, she wants an invitation to their eventual wedding.

One-half of the couple, Daniel, shared a TikTok video of him and his partner meeting the “Hands to Myself” artist alongside a caption detailing the moment’s significance.

“I came out to her 5 years ago,” he wrote of Gomez, noting that he met his partner “through stan twitter” as fans of hers. “Today is our two year anniversary and this is the moment Selena Gomez said she wants an invite to our wedding.”

In the clip, Daniel introduces the visibly excited Rare Beauty founder to his boyfriend and shares how they got to know each other.

“Oh my gosh, you guys. I feel so touched,” responded Gomez, touching her hand to her heart and adding with a chuckle: “I better be invited to the wedding.”

Perhaps the couple will find their wedding song in Gomez and Blanco’s new album, announced last week with the release of its lead single, “Scared of Loving You.”

In a recent conversation with Interview magazine, the “Good for You” musician said she “definitely didn’t feel any sort of pressure” working alongside her fiancé on music.

Gomez continued, “I was maybe just nervous with jitters in the beginning, and then slowly but surely it was happening and it sort of fell into place with a lot of hard work and love.”

She also opened up to the outlet about the best part of working with Blanco: “The fact that he listened to me.”

“Sometimes it’s difficult for me to speak up,” said Gomez. “Most of my anxiety right now is wanting him to speak because I feel like he’s more talented than I am in this field.”

The Emilia Perez star added, “It’s like working with a great filmmaker. Whether we were together or not, I think he still would’ve listened to everything that I had to say, and he was able to almost transcribe it into music, into what the feeling of what I was talking about should be. And I really found that to be helpful because this album definitely feels just as much mine as I’m sure it does his.”

I Said I Love You First comes out March 21.
