‘Selling the City’ star Eleonora Srugo details Mayor Eric Adams friendship amid dating speculation

Eleonora Srugo is shutting down rumors that she’s romantically involved with New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

In an exclusive interview with Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” the real estate guru — who recently made her reality TV debut in Netflix’s “Selling the City” — confirms her close relationship with Adams, but insists it’s strictly platonic. 

“I met the mayor way before he was mayor. We’re friends,” she says of their bond, adding, “He’s a busy man — obviously way busier than I am. He gives great advice.”

Srugo, 38, admits that the dating speculation “used to seriously offend” her, though she’s curious why the public would assume she and Adams, 64, are an item.

“Is it just because, like, he’s a man and I’m a woman? Or he’s a man of color and I’m a white [woman]? Like, what is it that?” she ponders aloud in her chat with “Virtual Reali-Tea.” 

“There was one article that says I was in a car with him. I mean, there are hundreds of people that go in cars with him.”

As for what connected her and Adams, Srugo says they are both “smart” and share a passion for education. 

“We have a lot of mutual friends,” she elaborates, adding that “he also is entitled to have a friend when he finishes work at 9:30 p.m.” in defense of their late-night hangouts. 

The Israel native — who moved to the Big Apple as a child, settling in Soho’s artist lofts with her actress mother and jazz drummer father — says that she “[likes] being around intellectual people,” especially men, like Adams, who she feels “want to make a difference.” 

“But I’m not calling him to talk about my boy trouble or anything,” Srugo clarifies before reiterating, “Like, we’re friends.”

The Douglas Elliman agent says Adams’ 2021 victory in the city’s mayoral election was a “pinch-me” moment, as she had supported him and his vision for the city for some time prior. 

“I’m a New Yorker. I think it’s really cool. How great is that that someone I believed in and saw work really hard and want something and believe that he can do something so well [win],” she says. “Like, to see that all happen and to have such a close view was awesome.”

In September 2024, Adams was arraigned on five federal charges related to an alleged conspiracy with Turkish officials. He later pleaded not guilty to all the charges and requested a federal judge dismiss part of the case, which was denied in December.

Still, Srugo remains optimistic about his political future.

“And what he’s going through now, look, I think most New Yorkers will judge on the state of the city and how they feel everything is going and, you know, I can talk about local politics forever,” she tells us. 

“But the mayor’s race is really something that comes down to the few months right before June. So we’ll see what happens by then.” 

Until then, Srugo is happy to represent NYC on “Selling the City.” 

“New York had a little bit of a rough patch, right? New York is the most resilient and incredible place in the world. New York will never be done or over with, OK?” She says. 

“But a lot of New York reality shows were canceled, right? ‘Million Dollar Listing’ was postponed indefinitely, ‘RHONY’ was done for a while. New York needed a great moment on television.”
