Serayah ends Joey Bada$$ engagement, accuses him of cheating

Serayah has ended her engagement to Joey Bada$$ — and is accusing her ex-fiancé of “repeated infidelity.”

The actress, 31, shared her “painful truth” about her “difficult decision to” call it quits “with the father of [her] child” in a lengthy statement via Instagram on Monday.

“There comes a point in a woman’s life when choosing herself is no longer an option, it becomes necessary,” the “Empire” alum, born Serayah Ranee McNeill, told her followers. “I loved deeply, believed wholeheartedly in the life we were building, and wanted nothing more than to protect our family.”

However, she alleged, “Unfortunately … there had been repeated infidelity throughout our relationship, including during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of my life.

“I share this not for sympathy, retaliation, or to publicly tear anyone down,” Serayah continued. “I share it because too many women are taught to question themselves before they question what is happening right in front of them. If your intuition is telling you something is wrong, listen to it.”

She advised, “Don’t make yourself smaller to keep someone else comfortable. Don’t compromise your values because you’re afraid of losing the future you imagined. And don’t allow someone else’s choices to become a referendum on your worth. Love should not require you to abandon yourself.”

The social media upload concluded with a reference to the former couple’s “beautiful” 1-year-old son, whose name they have yet to reveal.

“My priority will be protecting his peace, privacy and relationship with both of his parents,” Serayah wrote. “For that reason, I won’t be discussing the intimate details of our relationship publicly beyond what I have shared here. This chapter did not end the way I prayed it would. But endings can also be beginnings.”

Joey’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

After sharing her statement, Serayah gave a glimpse of her “celebration” with pals honoring the end of her romance.

“Anyways thank you next!” she wrote on her Story with a peace sign.

Per TMZ, Serayah also shared and deleted a video bashing her ex for allegedly talking trash about her with another woman over the phone.

After releasing a clip of the conversation, she wrote, “Post and delete. If you saw you saw.”

Serayah and Joey, born Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, met in 2021 at a mutual friend’s birthday party and started dating the following year.

The duo became parents in June 2025 when their little one arrived, with Joey popping the question shortly after.

The Pro Era member previously opened up to Essence about making a “shift” to monogamy after falling for Serayah.

“I don’t discourage or disagree with anybody going after polyamory or whatever if that’s what you want to do,” he explained in the 2025 interview. “But this is where I’m at now and this is where I feel secure.”
