Supermodel Paulina Porizkova, 60, strips down to lingerie to embrace her ‘imperfections’ for a ‘get ready with me’ video on Instagram

Paulina Porizkova is offering a reality check to all of those “get ready with me” videos that seem to flood our Instagram feeds.

The 60-year-old model took to the social media platform with a candid video of herself getting ready for her day of working from home, making a statement about body positivity and self-acceptance.

“There’s something very calming in watching videos of women getting dressed for the day,” she admitted, adding, “And so, here’s my contribution.”

As she begins to strip off her bathrobe and add her daily layers, she narrates, “A five-year-old bathrobe, four-year-old underwear from Victoria’s Secret, a bra from ThirdLove (which by the way is great) and here are my hip scars from my lateral hip replacement.”

Porizkova continues getting dressed, putting on Rag & Bone’s sweatpant jeans (“Dressing for the day at home means an elastic waist”), a sweatshirt printed with squirrels, cozy shearling slippers and her contact lenses (“This is what I have to do as a nearly-blind person”).

She finishes her look by pinching her cheeks, explaining, “My only makeup will be a pinch of color.”

In the caption of the post, the model writes, “If you’re like me, you will also zero in on the shape of my body- and hopefully- think with relief ‘ah, she’s not perfect either,’” adding, “And then you can give yourself a little break and wrap your arms around your imperfect self and give it some love. Because our imperfections are what make us a perfect original.”

The Polish model, whose career took off in the 1980s, didn’t set out to become the face of Photoshop-free body positivity, but she’s thrilled to take on the role.

“I didn’t know that you could filter yourself!” Porizkova admitted to Page Six Style a few years ago. “Had I known, I probably would have… like, ‘Look at how great I look!’ But I just had no clue.”

“The more I posted the reality and the real me,” she added, “the more people responded to it.”

When it comes to frequently trending “get ready with me” videos, Porizkova provides a refreshing contrast to the over-filtered influencer videos that feature brand-new looks worth thousands of dollars.

“It’s one little button that says ‘unfollow,’” she told Page Six Style of the nay-sayers. “Bye!”
