Sydney Sweeney climbs Hollywood sign to hang up bras — and falls foul of angry locals
Welcome to Hollywood.
Sydney Sweeney climbed the iconic Hollywood sign in Los Angeles to promote her new lingerie line, according to a video obtained by TMZ.
In the clip, the “Euphoria” actress placed a handful of bras on the letter H of the historical landmark as a production team filmed.
She and the crew also got to the top of the letters to string a clothesline of bras.
Sources claimed to the outlet that the move was to promote the “Housemaid” star’s new lingerie line, which is backed by billionaire Jeff Bezos.
TMZ reported that, although the 28-year-old got a permit from FilmLA to shoot the Hollywood Sign, she did not receive permission to touch or climb the sign.
However, the outlet received an email from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which owns the famous sign, confirming Sweeney and her team did not get permission from the organization.
“There was no permission granted to do this as is required,” the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce told the outlet.
Her lack of a permit could put her at risk of being charged with criminal trespassing and/or vandalism, per the outlet.
Page Six has reached out to the LAPD, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Sweeney’s reps for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
Last July, news surfaced that the “Anyone But You” actress was launching a lingerie line, backed by Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez.
“This has been a huge project for her and something she’s been working on for the last year,” an insider told Us Weekly at the time.
The previous month, Sweeney was one of many A-listers to attend the Amazon founder and Sánchez’s lavish wedding in Venice, Italy.
The actress even spent time with Orlando Bloom and Tom Brady during the nuptials.
