Tallulah Willis’ Balenciaga wedding dress borrowed a detail from Demi Moore

Tallulah Willis’ “something borrowed” was built right into her dress.

The writer and artist, 32, married musician Justin Acee in Sun Valley, Idaho, on Saturday in a custom Balenciaga couture gown by Pierpaolo Piccioli.

The sculptural, curved neckline of the dress paid homage to mom Demi Moore, who wore a black sheath by the French house with a similar silhouette to the Vanity Fair Oscar party earlier this year.

The first iteration of the gown had a straight neckline, but the bride pushed for something with more interest. “I just thought, wouldn’t it be so beautiful to have no necklace and nothing up here, but just the shape,” the bride told British Vogue at her final fitting.

The strapless silk satin column gown had a voluminous draped skirt gathered at the hips, a long train trailing behind and a structured bow at the back.

Piccioli, who took over as Balenciaga creative director in 2025, designed the bow so that Willis would look “like a package that was being unwrapped,” she told the publication.

She finished the bridal look with a floor-length veil, pear-shaped diamond drop earrings and a chignon with soft pieces framing her face — plus warm, fresh makeup for the ceremony.

The Balenciaga atelier logged 712 hours on the gown in total, per Vogue, plus another nine on the veil alone. Each individually beaded organza petal took roughly 60 hours to hand-embroider and apply.

Willis had her final fitting at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles just over a week before the ceremony, joined by Moore, sisters Rumer and Scout Willis and Moore’s longtime stylist Brad Goreski.

Scout, 35, told Vogue that Tallulah had been sending her Etsy wedding dress options as recently as six months earlier.

“From Etsy to Balenciaga couture — that’s a moment,” she said.

Moore brought Tallulah as her date to Piccioli’s first couture show for the house in Paris last month, and the designer sat down with the bride for four hours the following day.

Goreski, who helped the bride pull references for the Balenciaga team, described the brief as “whimsical and ethereal.”

“My biggest hope [for the dress] was that [it would be] something magical, but magical in a way that was unexpected, kind of like me,” said Willis, adding that self-acceptance has been a hard-won battle for her — alluding to her eating disorder recovery and battles with online trolls.

Willis and Acee announced their engagement in December 2024 after roughly two years of dating.

Her sisters served as bridesmaids in matching seafoam green strapless gowns at Saturday’s ceremony.
