Taylor Swift agrees to give evidence in Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni legal battle
Look what they made her do.
Taylor Swift has agreed to give evidence in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal battle, according to court docs obtained by Page Six on Friday.
The singer, 35, will be deposed — but only if the actor’s legal team convinces a judge to extend the deadline for the testimony to take place.
The “Jane the Virgin” alum’s lawyer Ellyn S. Garofalo denied to Judge Lewis J. Liman that they had requested “a blanket thirty-day extension of the discovery cut-off date.”
Instead, the attorney claimed, “Wayfarer Parties requested an agreement solely to take the deposition of Taylor Swift during the week of October 20-25 due to Ms. Swift’s preexisting professional obligations.”
The Grammy winner, whose “The Life of a Showgirl” album comes out on Oct. 3, is “unable to do so” beforehand.
Reps for Swift, Baldoni and Lively did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Swift was first dragged into pal Lively’s legal war when Baldoni, 41, referenced the pop star in his January lawsuit, accusing his “It Ends With Us” co-star of defamation and extortion.
Baldoni filed on the heels of Lively suing him for alleged sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and lost wages.
He alleged in his filing that Lively referred to her and husband Ryan Reynolds as “dragons” who protect her in creative battles.
We hear this made the “Bad Blood” singer feel “used” and she didn’t “appreciate being referred to” in that way.
When Swift was subpoenaed as a witness in May, the songwriter’s rep hit back at the idea that Swift had anything to do with the August 2024 film’s controversy besides “permitting the use of one song, ‘My Tears Ricochet.’”
The spokesperson pointed out, “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see ‘It Ends With Us’ until weeks after its public release.”
The subpoena was dropped later that same month.
Additionally, a judge threw out Baldoni’s lawsuit in June — although his and Lively’s drama rages on with the “Gossip Girl” alum’s lawsuit.
Baldoni, most recently, was hit with new harassment claims by an unnamed individual about alleged “repeated, negative interactions” and “verbal abuse.” Reps for Baldoni did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the new allegations.
The scandal has reportedly taken a toll on Swift and Lively’s friendship, with the Daily Mail claiming the “Shallows” actress did not reach out to congratulate the bride-to-be on her engagement to Travis Kelce.
“[She] isn’t going to,” the insider alleged, explaining that Lively has “bigger fish to fry.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, got down on one knee in August, immediately after filming Swift’s podcast debut on his and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” show.
The couple have been together since 2023 and made headlines for multiple double dates with Lively and Reynolds, 48, the following year.
Lively’s friendship with Swift began in 2015.
