Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Target vinyl look includes an Elizabeth Taylor Easter egg
A diamond’s gotta shine.
Taylor Swift isn’t done rolling out her fashion-packed “Life of a Showgirl” album artwork — and the look she shared Wednesday to announce the Target-exclusive “Crowd Is Your King” vinyl variant is quite the gem.
In the image, the 14-time Grammy winner poses in profile wearing a blush velvet bodysuit by The Blonds trimmed with crystals and finished in the front with a larger-than-life 3D jewel motif.
The design is part of the New York brand’s heavily bejeweled fall 2023 collection, which was partly inspired by Elizabeth Taylor’s famous fondness for bling.
“It’s all about celebration of color, sparkle, glamour. And this is sort of a tribute to Elizabeth Taylor, one of our style icons. And the idea of falling in and out of love,” designer David Blond said before the show.
This particular pull seems purposeful; a track on “Showgirl” is named after Taylor, and Swift previously referenced the Hollywood legend’s relationship with Richard Burton in both her “Wildest Dreams” music video and her lyrics for “…Ready for It?”
“A showgirl knows to save some of her best tricks for the grand finale,” Swift began her Instagram caption announcing the Target-exclusive vinyl.
Crystal-encrusted Christian Louboutin pumps and a showgirl-style feathered headpiece finish the superstar’s latest “Life of a Showgirl” look.
Swift and longtime stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer selected several other looks from The Blonds for the album shoot, including a show-stopping pink feathered number from the design duo’s fall 2025 collection and a red crystallized bodysuit and matching flame-inspired opera gloves from the fall 2024 runway.
