Teyana Taylor is sharing an update on Leonardo DiCaprio’s viral moment at the 2026 Golden Globes.
Taylor, 35, appeared on the The Tonight Show on Wednesday, Jan. 14, as she continued her victory lap after winning her first Golden Globe award on Sunday, Jan. 11. During her interview, the One Battle After Another star told Jimmy Fallon that DiCaprio, 51, was not actually speaking to her in the video that went viral on the ceremony’s official TikTok page.
“Okay, so look, yesterday, I thought I broke the Da Vinci Code, right?” Taylor said, seemingly in reference to her interview with Access Hollywood on Tuesday, Jan. 13, in which she said she and DiCaprio were discussing KPop Demon Hunters and “just jamming” with animated expressions during the awards show.
As Taylor has already noted, her two daughters are major KPop Demon Hunters fans and she was “really excited” when the Netflix movie won Best Motion Picture (Animated) and Best Original Song at the Globes.

“So when I first seen it, I didn’t watch the whole thing. So I was like ‘Oh you’re talking about Kpop Demon Hunters, he’s talking about me.’ But then I watched it and they was doing the lip-read thing and I had to call Leo,” she said of the viral clip featuring DiCaprio speaking with someone at his table.
“I was like, ‘You can’t be talking to me, were you talking to me?’ Because I already told people you was talking to me. So apparently he had two KPop Demon Hunter conversations that night, so KPop Demon Hunters was just in his mouth all night,” Taylor joked.
“And I’m like ‘Who else is you kekeing with like that?’ Because literally that’s how we [talk, with animated gestures],” Taylor added of DiCaprio, whom she has been friends with for years. “So I had a little friendly jealousy, I was like ‘Who else are you chewing your invisible gum with?’ He didn’t even remember who he was talking to. He was like ‘I don’t even know.’ ”
The clip of DiCaprio went viral as the Oscar winner put on several animated expressions and laughed along with whoever he was speaking with, which stood out against his otherwise more reserved public persona. Taylor previously told Access Hollywood that she and DiCaprio were “kekeing” about how her daughters Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr., 10, and Rue Rose Shumpert, 5, love the movie, but she “didn’t know that that whole moment was being captured.”
In total, Taylor and DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another won four Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 11, including the movie’s Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) win and Taylor’s win for her performance as Perfidia Beverly Hills. Both actors are nominated at the 2026 Actor Awards on March 1, where the movie has received six total nominations.
