The Actor Awards — formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards — have unveiled this year’s honorees.
On Wednesday, Jan. 7, Abbott Elementary star Janelle James and Heated Rivalry breakout Connor Storrie announced SAG-AFTRA’s nominations for 2025’s best film and TV performances.
The rebranded Actor Awards ceremony will be presented on Sunday, March 1, streaming live on Netflix. This year’s Life Achievement Award honoree is Harrison Ford.
Why was the awards show’s name changed? According to its official website: “We wanted to provide clearer recognition in terms of what the show is about for our domestic and global audiences — we honor actors in film and television. Laser-focusing the name on those two things became the clearest and most straightforward path for this new chapter of the show.”
