The Best Hair Looks at the 2026 Grammys

Situated at the peak of awards season, the 2026 Grammys are an opportunity for the stars to bring their A-game to the red carpet — and that includes the glam.

The Sunday, Feb. 1, ceremony saw music’s best and brightest step out in gorgeous (and risk-taking) gowns, but their hairstyles took their looks to the next level. Sabrina Carpenter’s wispy updo perfectly complemented her romantic gown, while Kelsea Ballerini’s slicked-back style let her dazzling dress do all the talking.

The night also saw some free-flowing looks, from Kehlani’s mermaid-like waves to Chappell Roan’s cascading curls.

Sabrina Carpenter

The six-time nominee paired her custom Valentino gown with an airy, cascading updo courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Evanie Frausto using Redken. Frausto opted for a pulled-back style in order to let Carpenter’s elegant capelet shine.

“Sabrina was my muse,” the stylist shared via press release. “We wanted the hair to look soft and airy with pieces that fell naturally down the back like they just landed there.”

The night before the event, Frausto prepped Carpenter’s hair with Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo and Conditioner, followed by Redken’s new Acidic Bonding Concentrate Hair Bandage Balm.

To prevent her hair from looking “too polished,” they tousled the hair using Redken Root Lifter Volumizing Spray at the roots and Redken Full Volume Mousse through the mids and ends.

After blow-drying and creating curls with a 1-inch curling iron, Frausto saturated the curls with Redken Max Hold Hairspray or Redken Brushable Hairspray lightly and brush it out. “It will almost look too messy and that’s when I know it’s ready,” says the stylist.

Next, the Redken Dry Texture Finishing Spray gives the look “editorial texture” before Frausto gathers the hair into a low ponytail and pins it in place. After another hit of texture spray and pulling out some face-framing pieces, the stylist softly curls Carpenter’s bangs “so that it frames the face without looking set.”

Finally, the style is set using Redken Control Hairspray.

Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan’s sheer maroon gown took naked dressing to the next level, but her cascading hair — which perfectly matched her dress — elevated the look even further.

The singer’s waist-length curls featured crimped pieces and fishtail braids throughout, adding some serious dimension to her signature red locks.

Tyla

The Grammy winner opted for a soft, romantic hairstyle from hair stylist Chris Salmon that complemented her beige Dsquared2 slip dress.

The singer’s long, dark hair was pulled into a messy high ponytail with long front pieces draping over her face on one side. With a few other wispy pieces left out of the ponytail, Tyla’s look was oh-so effortless.

Kelsea Ballerini

The country star’s sleek updo featured a looped style at the back, which hairstylist Chris Appleton said was directly inspired by her green and gold beaded Etro halter dress.

“Snatched and sculpted ✨,” Appleton shared on Instagram. “I took inspiration from the pattern in the dress and took it right up to the hair.”

Kehlani

The Grammy winner went for length with a mermaid-inspired wavy style that was parted to the side and cascaded down her back.

The look leaned into the sexiness of her sheer black beaded halter dress.

“A little texture and scalp for my 2 x Grammy award-winning little sister 😌,” hairstylist JStayReady wrote on Instagram.

Katseye

Katseye brought serious girl group power in custom dresses by Ludovic de Saint Sernin — and inches upon inches of show-stopping hair.

Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae coordinated in long, flowing hairstyles, ranging from mermaid-style waves to soft, romantic curls to sleek and straight.

Karol G

Karol G made a strong case for beachy waves with her tousled blonde locks on the Grammys red carpet. The sun-kissed style framed her face and draped around her shoulders thanks to the off-the-shoulder neckline of her sheer lace Paolo Sebastian gown.
