Tate McRae hit the red carpet in a custom sheer Grecian-style white gown by Ludovic de Saint Sernin. The ensemble featured a low-cut bustier and flowy, see-through fabric that showed off the cheeky bottoms she wore underneath.

During MTV’s preshow broadcast, the singer said that the dress was inspired by “scorned woman inspired by medusa… turning [boys] into stone.”

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter leaned into sultry Hollywood glamour in a waist-snatching floor-length red gown, which featured strategically placed sequin floral embellishments all over. For dramatic flair, she accessorized with a lilac pink boa worn draped around her arms.

Jessica Simpson returned to the VMAs after a nearly 20-year hiatus in a black skin-baring sheer dress by Christian Siriano. The ensemble featured a visible black underwire and corset boning at the bust and torso, while the sheer black fabric created an illusion of draping around her bust and the rest of her body.

She completed the look with visible high-waisted underwear in black and added strappy black heels.
