‘The Naked Gun’ Costars Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson Nearly Kiss Mid-Interview

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson continue to fuel those growing romance rumors.

After Anderson, 58, planted a kiss on Neeson’s cheek during The Naked Gun’s London premiere last week, the pair were asked by Entertainment Tonight about the display of PDA while attending the New York City premiere on Monday, July 28.

Instead of giving a verbal response to explain the smooch, the costars simply gazed into each other’s eyes and moved their heads to seemingly share a passionate kiss on camera —  but stopped just short of touching one another’s lips.

“So close,” Anderson joked after pulling away, while Neeson, 73, added, “We’re pros!”

When asked by ET what the best part of working together was, Neeson said it was a “lovely script.” He added that it was “fun to be working with this lady,” gesturing to Anderson, who replied, “Yeah, it was fun. It was fun to go to work together every day.”

Anderson and Neeson, who star as Beth Davenport and Frank Drebin Jr. in The Naked Gun — a legacy sequel of the beloved ‘90s action-comedy — first sparked romance speculation in December 2024 when Neeson told People he was “madly in love” with Anderson after working with her on set.

The duo continued to fuel the rumors while interviewing each other for the outlet earlier this month, with Neeson revealing that his first thought about Anderson was that she was “easy on the eyes.”

“I was really taken with your ‘thereness.’ You were absolutely there,” he told his costar. “They was no [brushing me off], I knew we had kind of a chemistry from very early on.”

Anderson agreed, saying: “Yeah, we definitely had chemistry right away. I was just curious where it was going to take us in the film. It was really a nice start.”

Then came the now-famous cheek kiss at the London premiere on July 22, which was accompanied by the pair holding hands on the red carpet. Monday’s NYC premiere also brought the speculation to a fever pitch when Anderson and Neeson posed for a group photo with their respective children. (Anderson shares Brandon Thomas, 29, and Dylan Jagger, 27, with ex Tommy Lee, while Neeson shared sons Michael, 30, and Daniel, 28, with late wife Natasha Richardson.)

They later played coy about if they were an “item” during an interview with Today on Tuesday, July 29, with Anderson claiming she didn’t “understand the question.”

“I had never met Pamela before,” Neeson added. “We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry — as two actors.”
