The no-nonsense advice Taraji P. Henson gave Megan Thee Stallion on navigating fame
Taraji P. Henson didn’t mince words when advising Megan Thee Stallion on how to handle fame.
“[I told her to] just ignore the noise, and keep doing her, and don’t take no s–t,” the award-winning actress told Page Six exclusively at the rap star’s Pete & Thompson Foundation gala in New York on July 16.
Megan, 30, invited Henson, 54, to host the glamorous event at Gotham City Hall, as the two had developed a friendship after collaborating together on the former’s “Body” music video.
“I have a non-profit foundation, and I know how important these events are,” the “Color Purple” star said, “and so any way I can help, I’m there.”
She then gushed of the “Savage” rapper, “I just love her so much. I love everything about her. I love what she stands for, and I see her, and I what she’s trying to do. I’m a huge believer in humans need humans, and so here I am doing my part.”
Megan’s inaugural gala was held to raise funds for programs focused on education, housing, health and wellness in honor of her late parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete III.
The Grammy winner successfully raised a total of $1.2 million from auctioning everything from a private dinner with a celebrity chef to a luxury bracelet.
Megan’s boyfriend, Klay Thompson, even contributed to the efforts by placing the winning bid of $50,000 for an exclusive Super Bowl 2026 experience, courtesy of Roc Nation.
The couple — who went public with their romance this month — made their red carpet debut at the gala.
The “Hot Girl Summer” rapper and NBA star adorably comforted each other and packed on the PDA as the photographers snapped the first-ever red carpet shots of them together.
Henson exclusively told Page Six that she is supportive of Megan and Thompson’s romance “just as long as [Megan’s] happy.”
“Just as long as she’s happy,” the “Straw” star reiterated. “Look, as long she’s smiling and happy and it’s healthy, I’m all for it.”
Megan, for her part, gushed to Page Six on the carpet about the Dallas Mavericks player, 34.
“I have never dated somebody so kind,” the “Mamushi” rapper said.
“This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy. I just never dated somebody like him before and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me.”
