‘The View’ alum Debbie Matenopoulos in talks to join ‘RHOBH’ Season 15 cast on heels of Garcelle Beauvais’ exit

Debbie Matenopoulos exclusively told “Page Six Radio” that she’s in talks to join “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” for Season 15.
The former “View” co-host explained that she’s “currently” chatting with the show’s producers during Tuesday’s episode of our new SiriusXM show.
“Yes, I am currently talking to them,” she spilled. “So when I mean currently, I mean like, currently. Like, last week.”
Matenopoulos, 50, explained that it’s been “difficult” for her to make a decision, because she’d be “inviting” people and opinions into her life.
“I started with inviting the world into my life when I didn’t even know what my life was, so it was very difficult,” she recalled, referring to being an original “View” co-host at age 22.
However, Matenopoulos said that now that she has more life experience, she “could control the narrative a lot better.”
“So would I do it? I think it would be super fun, and I know a lot of those women,” she added.
Matenopoulos shared that she’s friends with Garcelle Beauvais –– who isn’t returning for Season 15 –– Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne and Dorit Kemsley.
“I love Kyle, I love Dorit, I love Erika Jayne,” she said.
The journalist explained that she also has a connection to Sutton Stracke, as they share the same hair and makeup team.
Despite knowing most of the women, Matenopoulos admitted that she still has hesitations about joining the show.
“I said to them, ‘I’m not a fighter, you guys. I’m not a fighter,’” she said of talking with “RHOBH” producers. “I really kind of say things how they are but never in a negative, mean girl sort of way. It always comes from a good place, so if you expect people to flip tables and do that kind of mess, you’re talking to the wrong girl.”
When asked if she could focus on being the new “peacekeeper” of the group, she seemed hopeful that she could put on her “journalism hat” and figure out what’s going on with each of the women.
“I would like that,” she shared. “I would feel like I’ve served my purpose on the show if I did something like that. I mean, I feel like I could help them.”
Matenopoulos shared her latest thoughts just a few weeks after Beauvais announced that she’d be leaving the hit Bravo show to spend more time with her family and pursue “exciting projects.”
“I’ve decided to leave ‘Beverly Hills,’” Beauvais, 58, said in an Instagram video last month. “It’s been a wild ride — I mean, some amazing things have happened and some hard things have also happened. But it’s been a ride nevertheless.”
Beauvais thanked the Bravo family and her fans who have “cheered me on, supported me and sometimes even fought for me — or on my behalf.”
Shortly after Beauvais shared her news, Erika Jayne told Us Weekly that “no one knows who’s coming back.”
Season 14 starred Beauvais, Jayne, Richards, Kemsley, Stracke and newcomer Bozoma Saint John, while Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly were “friends of the ‘Housewives.’”
