Tim Curry reunited with ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ co-stars in final public appearance before death

Tim Curry made his final public appearance nine months before his death.

The actor was last publicly seen on Nov. 3, 2025, attending the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” 50th Anniversary Spectacular Tour at The Town Hall in New York City.

Curry posed for various photos during a meet-and-greet with co-stars Patricia Quinn (who played Magenta), Barry Bostwick (who played Brad Majors) and Nell Campbell (who played Columbia).

Curry’s final public appearance was especially significant as his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter marked his movie debut after a lengthy career in musical theater.

The 1975 cult classic follows newly engaged couple Brad and Janet (Susan Sarandon), who get stranded at a mysterious mansion after their car breaks down. There, they meet the flamboyant Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist who has created a muscular artificial man named Rocky.

Speaking to the audience during his last appearance, Curry reflected on the iconic character and film that made him a household name in the industry.

He explained to the audience that, due to the character’s name, he originally “played him with a German accent, which evidently bored” director Jim Sharman.

However, he decided on a different accent while riding the bus in London, where he listened to two upper-class women having a conversation.

“They wanted to sound like the Queen [Elizabeth] and that seemed appropriate for Frank, really, who clearly thought he was the Queen,” he noted, adding that he did his own makeup to resemble a “back-street hooker.”

In a moving addition, Curry gave a special thanks to “Rocky Horror’s” LGBTQIA+ audience.

“[Their support] means a lot because I think the message of the film — don’t dream it, be it — is very important. One of the things that the movie does, I think, is give anyone permission to behave as badly as they really want, in whatever way and with whom. And I’m proud of that,” he said.

Less than a month before that, Curry gave an emotional speech at The Grammy Museum celebration of the music for “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in Los Angeles.

And before that, he attended the Academy Museum’s 50th Anniversary of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Sept. 26, 2025.

At the time, Curry gave an update on his health, playfully telling the audience he “still can’t walk” following a 2012 stroke that left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair.

“I won’t be singing and I won’t be dancing very soon,” he continued. “I still have real problems with my left leg.”

Curry died Tuesday night after suffering serious health issues for over ten years. He was 80.

The “Home Alone 2” star gave his last interview in October 2025, during which he confessed that he didn’t “fear death.”

In fact, he explained during the “CBS Sunday Morning” segment that it would be “very comforting to go bye bye.”

The actor jokingly added, “I want to earn it. I want to earn the privilege of not being here. … I think I might very well embrace it.”
