Todd and Julie Chrisley had wildly different reactions to prison pardons

Julie and Todd Chrisley had complete opposite reactions to being pardoned for fraud and tax evasion.

In a preview clip for their first sit-down interview post-prison release, Julie recalls “busting out crying” when daughter Savannah Chrisley confirmed over the phone that President Trump had signed the pardon.

“I just hung up,” the 52-year-old says in an upcoming “My View with Lara Trump” episode. “I was so nervous I just hung up.”

She adds, “It was the craziest thing because unfortunately, most of the news that you get in prison is bad news.”

When Julie was asked whether she was “OK,” she replied, “I am! I think I’m getting out of here!”

As for Todd, he was told about his pardon by a fellow inmate, whom he initially did not believe.

“So I went into my dorm and one of the [correctional officers] came in and he goes, ‘You good?’” the real estate entrepreneur, 56, remembers.” And I said, ‘As good as I can be!’ And he said, ‘Todd you just got pardoned. They sent me down here to see if you were OK.’”

Todd says he told the officer, “Well hell if I’m pardoned they don’t have to be worried about me, I’m great!”

He goes on to thank God for “touch[ing] President Trump’s heart” in the emotional sit-down.

“God led the people to advocate for us,” Todd claims. “I’m grateful because every night I would pray that God would return me home to my wife and my children. And he did that, so I’m grateful.”

The couple, who have been married since 1996, sat down with Savannah, 27, and son Grayson Chrisley, 19, for the Fox News interview.

The episode airs in full on Saturday.

Julie and Todd were arrested in 2019 and charged with bank and wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy, to which they pleaded not guilty.

The “Chrisley Knows Best” alums were convicted in 2022.

Prior to their pardons, Julie and Todd were respectively sentenced to a seven and 12 years in prison.

Julie served her time at the Federal Medical Center in Kentucky while her husband was behind bars in Florida’s Federal Prison Camp.

They were released last month.

Savanah subsequently posted a video of her “jacked” dad, as well as a picture of his and Julie’s reunion.
