Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are back together again — and breaking things!

In a video posted to Instagram by Michael Rubin on Friday, June 20, the former NFL players — who each played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots — were shown having a bit of fun while roughhousing at Fanatics Fest 2025 in New York City.

The clip documented a behind-the-scenes moment where Brady, 47, tossed Gronkowski, 36, a Lombardi trophy in a hallway lined with reporters and photojournalists.

Though Gronkowski did make the catch, the championship trophy reserved for the winner of the Super Bowl broke as it landed in his hands.

Gasps could be heard as cameras continued flashing.

“You broke it!” Brady yelled as he ran toward Gronkowski.

“I didn’t break it! You threw it way too hard,” the former tight end shot back.

The pair talked over each other playing the blame game until Brady jokingly told him, “You are washed up.”

“At least @tombrady and @gronk have a few more of those,” Rubin, 52, captioned his Instagram post, adding a series of trophy emojis.

Brady played in the NFL for 23 seasons, spending his first 20 with the New England Patriots before finishing his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has seven Super Bowl titles, the most of any player and more than any NFL franchise.

Gronkowski spent 11 seasons in the NFL, beginning with nine in New England. He joined Brady in Tampa Bay, where he played two more seasons before retiring. He won four Super Bowls during his career.

Their time on the same teams overlapped throughout their NFL careers, and they won four Super Bowls together between 2014 and 2020.

In a February 2022 interview with PEOPLE to discuss his hosting duties for the NFL Alumni Legends Party with USA Today Network, Gronkowski opened up about their then-12-year friendship and Brady’s retirement.

“We were an incredible team,” Gronkowski said. “We were an incredible combo. We had incredible chemistry over the last 12 years. So with him not playing anymore, it kind of opens up my options because when we were playing together, it just made a lot of sense. We had a great connection, chemistry, everything was there and we wanted to play with each other while he was still playing and while I was still playing.”

He added, “I’m just very proud of him and just an honor to be able to play with him while he was still playing. So it’s just humbling. He’s just a true legend.”

But there were also silly moments throughout their brotherhood.

In a February 2023 interview with PEOPLE, Gronkowski fondly recalled a prank he pulled on the NFL vet.

“There was April Fool’s Day, and I pulled a trick on him,” Gronkowski said. “I put his hand in the water while he was sleeping, and it made him pee the bed.”
