Travis Kelce Reveals His Favorite Song From Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Album

Travis Kelce has, of course, already listened to fiancée Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl — but now, the football star is offering more insight into the music.
“I’m gonna go ahead and keep poking the bear to all the Swifties,” Travis, 35, quipped during the Wednesday, August 27, episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “I keep listening to this album and I know she mentioned that it’s gonna be a lot more pop beats and everything, but it’s still so poetic and her melodies and her references and stuff.”
Travis told brother and show cohost Jason Kelce that the record is “just so much fun to listen to,” revealing that he’s “been dancing throughout the house” while listening to the tracks.
Jason, 37, asked whether Travis could share his favorite song.
“I’m not a politician, Jason,” he replied. “I think ‘Opalite’ might be my favorite though. At least right now, every time it comes on, I always catch myself [vibing].”
Swift, 35, announced her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Travis and Jason’s podcast earlier this month.
The upcoming album — set to be released on Friday, October 3 — will feature 12 songs: “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Opalite,” “Father Figure,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Ruin the Friendship,” “Actually Romantic,” “Wi$h Li$t,” “Wood,” “Cancelled!,” “Honey” and “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Swift produced the new record alongside Max Martin and Shellback.
“We knew that we had to bring the best ideas that we’ve ever had, and I also know that I’m putting pressure on this record by saying that, but I don’t care because I love it that much. I’m so proud of it,” Swift said during her podcast appearance. “It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life. And so that effervescence has come through on this record.”
Travis, meanwhile, told listeners that the album is full of “all bangers.”
Wednesday’s “New Heights” episode came hours after Swift revealed that she and Travis are engaged after nearly two years together.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” she captioned an Instagram post on Tuesday, August 26, showing off their stunning engagement photos.
“New Heights” did address the engagement news with a message from Jason.
“There is one gigantic piece of new news that just hit the waves,” he said. “We did record this podcast on Monday, which is Travis’ one day off. So he is not here to address this himself, but we felt it necessary as a team here at ‘New Heights’ to get together and send Travis and Taylor a giant congratulations for being engaged. The proposal heard ’round the world. F*** yeah!”
