‘Vanderpump Rules’ Alum James Kennedy Won’t Face Charges for Domestic Violence Arrest

James Kennedy will not be charged after his 2024 arrest for domestic violence.
“I was just informed by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office that no charges will be filed against James Kennedy,” Kennedy’s attorney Scott Leemon told Us Weekly in a statement on Wednesday, January 22. “I want to thank them for conducting a thorough and professional review of the matter, involving my client.”
The statement continued, “Their diligent investigation confirmed what we have maintained from the beginning — there were no grounds for any charges to be filed against Mr. Kennedy. James is grateful to have this matter behind him and is looking forward to continuing to focus on his sobriety and his DJ career.”
Kennedy, 32, was arrested last month on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge after an alleged incident with girlfriend Ally Lewber. He denied any wrongdoing at the time.
“We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James,” Kennedy’s attorneys said in a statement at the time. “We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
According to a police report, local officers were called to Kennedy and Lewber’s shared residence in Los Angeles after receiving an emergency call about an alleged fight. Kennedy was released from police custody within hours after posting a $20,000 bail.
Days later, Lewber, 28, broke her silence on the incident.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on me,” she wrote via Instagram Story. “I’m OK and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time.”
Ahead of the holidays, Lewber left her and Kennedy’s residence in favor of an Airbnb with her parents. Neither Bravo star has confirmed whether their relationship is officially over, though a source told Us earlier this month that friends believe they are “done.”
According to the insider, Kennedy has told friends “they are just taking a break” and are still in contact.
“Everyone around them thinks they are done and can’t come back from this,” the source added.
Kennedy is also focused on his sobriety.
“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life,” he wrote via Instagram Story on December 14. “I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones. Navigating challenging moments is not easy but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with the incredible support system around me.”
