Victoria Beckham gives rare insight into ‘traditional’ family dynamic as feud with son Brooklyn rages on
Victoria Beckham gave some rare insight into her “traditional” family dynamic with husband David and their children as her widely reported feud with her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, rages on.
The fashion designer was promoting her three-part Netflix docuseries, “Victoria Beckham,” in her Thursday Elle interview as she looked back on her viral “working class” moment from David’s 2023 docuseries, “Beckham.”
When asked if viewers can anticipate more hilarious scenes like it, Victoria laughingly revealed that “even one of our children said, ‘How many times did you film that?’ We were like, ‘No, no. It wasn’t rehearsed.’”
“That’s what the Beckhams do. We like to have fun. We like to spend time all together. We’re a very traditional family, much more than I think people would realize,” she added.
That “traditional” lifestyle includes a daily 6 p.m. family dinnertime — even if that means having to work later through the night — and using her work ethic as an example for her children.
“I’ve always tried to be the best mom and wife that I can be,” Victoria, 51, said.
“After my last show, I remember so vividly the kids and David coming backstage. I had just come off of my exit. And the looks on their faces when they approached me — it was a real pinch-me moment, because I saw how proud they were.”
“It’s healthy that the children know Daddy goes to work, and Mommy goes to work. Working makes me the best version of me,” she added.
Victoria’s comments regarding her familial support system come amid her ongoing feud with her eldest son, Brooklyn.
Reports of a rift among the Beckhams began to surface around the time of Brooklyn’s April 2022 wedding to actress Nicola Peltz.
The feud appeared to be reignited earlier this year when many couldn’t help but notice Brooklyn and Peltz decided to skip David’s 50th birthday party in May. However, his siblings — Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14 — attended the soirée.
In June, Page Six revealed that Brooklyn, 26, was no longer in contact with his parents and siblings.
Most recently, it appeared that Brooklyn slighted his parents last month by leaving the two out of his speech during his and Peltz’s vow renewal ceremony.
“At the center of his heart is Nicola who he loves very dearly, but also the Peltz family who have really stuck by his side. He wanted to recognize them all, and was determined to do them all justice,” a source, who was at the event, told the Mirror at the time.
