‘Virgin River’ Season 7 Ending Explained: Did Mel and Jack Become Parents? Who Died? Who Split Up?
Virgin River threw plenty of surprises at fans throughout season 7, from babies and breakups to a possible death.
The Netflix series returned on Thursday, March 12, with Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) considering their options when it came to adopting her patient’s baby. The fictional couple, who got married one season prior, went through some challenges but ultimately ended the season as parents of a baby boy.
Mel and Jack also got to spend some time away from Virgin River when they visited Mexico for their honeymoon. Elsewhere in town, Lizzie gave birth to her and Denny’s (Kai Bradbury) baby, but it required some adjusting.
Doc (Tim Matheson) found himself jealous of Hope’s (Annette O’Toole) ex-husband while dealing with professional issues. Brie (Zibby Allen) was still torn between Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and Mike (Marco Grazzini) before deciding to commit to Brady. Shortly after the pair got together, Brady ended up in a brutal accident that left his life in the balance.
Keep scrolling for a breakdown of where each character ended up after season 7:
Mel and Jack
Season 7 featured many major moments for the now-married pair, including moving out of Mel’s old house to their new property and potentially becoming parents. Marley (Rachel Drance) briefly took back her offer to put her baby up for adoption, but she ultimately decided to make Mel and Jack the parents. Marley gave birth to a baby boy, but he was diagnosed with health issues that would require several surgeries.
The final scene was Mel and Jack in an ambulance with their newborn.
Preacher and Kaia
While Kaia briefly considered leaving Virgin River, she ultimately realized she wanted to remain in the small town. Preacher, however, ended the season more unsure about his future after Jack refused to accept his ideas about growing the bar.
Charmaine
After being absent for most of the season, Brie was able to track down Charmaine, who had been kidnapped by her boss. Charmaine and her twins were rescued and on the mend by the end of season 7.
Brady, Brie and Mike
Brie turned down Mike’s proposal, leading her to take a break from both him and Brady. She soon started working with Mike on a case and tried to stay friends with Brady. Neither situation worked out for long, and Brie had to make a choice.
Following her decision, Brady and Brie had a brief moment of bliss before he ended up in a serious motorcycle accident. Mike, meanwhile, moved on from Brie and could potentially be dating someone new going into season 8.
Hope and Doc
Doc spent the season trying to keep his patients while under investigation for a risky procedure. His marriage to Hope was in a good place until her ex-husband Roland appeared on numerous occasions and caused Doc to question his intentions.
Lizzie and Denny
The fictional couple welcomed their first baby and weathered personal issues, including Lizzie’s postpartum anxiety.
