‘When Call the Heart’ actress Mamie Laverock, 19, on life support after falling from five-story balcony

Mamie Laverock, who stars in “When Calls the Heart,” is currently on life support after falling five stories from a balcony.
According to a GoFundMe page, the 19-year-old initially suffered a “medical emergency” on May 11. Her mother, Nicole Compton, “was able to get there in time to save her life” and transported her to a local hospital.
Laverock was later transferred to a hospital in Vancouver, where her condition was labeled “unclear” but showed “signs of improvement.”
However, the family revealed a heartbreaking update over the weekend.
“We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26th, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories,” her family wrote on the GoFundMe page, which has raised nearly 14,000 CAD.
“She sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support,” they added. “We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.”
Following the news, several of her Hallmark costars took to social media to urge fans to keep her in their thoughts and prayers.
“I love this family, my heart is broken,” Johannah Newmarch, who plays Laverock’s on-screen mother Molly Sullivan, wrote on X Monday.
“A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can,” she added alongside the GoFundMe link. “They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”
Erin Krakow, who has starred in “When Calles the Heart” for a decade, and Loretta Walsh both told their followers that they donated and encouraged them to do the same.
Laverock landed her role as Rosaleen Sullivan, a nursing student, on the hit Hallmark show in 2014, scoring her a 2015 Young Artist Awards win for Best Performance in a TV Series – Recurring Young Actress Ten and Under.
She also won a 2014 Joey Awards, Vancouver, win for Young Ensemble Cast in a Dramatic Series.
After a years-long break from the series, she briefly reprised her role in 2023 for the show’s 10th season.
The young actress also had roles in “Psych,” “The Hollow Child” and “This Means War” alongside Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.
