When Were Prince Harry and Prince William Last Together? Breaking Down Their Final Meeting Amid Rift

Prince Harry and Prince William have not been in the same room for about a year, according to various reports.

Harry and William’s uncle Lord Robert Fellowes died at age 82 in July 2024. It was initially believed that Harry would not be traveling to the U.K. for the funeral service. However, The Sun reported after the August 2024 memorial that both William and Harry were in attendance.

A family friend confirmed to the publication at the time that they were “very happy to confirm both princes were there.” The brothers might have both been present, but things seemed frosty between them. A separate insider told The Sun at the time that neither Harry nor William spoke to each other and kept some distance between them.

Things between William and Harry haven’t been great since the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, parted ways from the royal family in early 2020 and relocated to California.

Recent reports have speculated that there is likely some type of reconciliation between Harry and his father, King Charles III, in the works. Despite the gestures of good faith within the family, royal expert Kristen Meinzer told Us Weekly exclusively in August 2025 that things between Harry and William are different than any feud with Charles.

“I think that Harry’s relationship with his brother is a different beast than his relationship with his father,” Meinzer explained. “But perhaps if Charles warms more to Harry, William will feel compelled to follow his lead.”

The royal family fallout hit a new high in May 2025 after Harry lost his appeal for government-funded security in the U.K. (He and Meghan lost their protection in his home country in 2020.)

Harry spoke out in a bombshell interview with the BBC to discuss the ongoing drama with his family members.

“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” Harry said, in part, at the time. “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”

Harry’s quote appeared to be in reference to Charles’ ongoing health battle. Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer in January 2024.

This interview appeared to make things worse between Harry and William. (Us reached out to Kensington Palace at the time.)

“William doesn’t talk about Harry anymore,” a royal source told Us in May 2025. “Everyone knows it’s a subject that they shouldn’t bring up, so he hasn’t brought up the interview and won’t.”

The same insider speculated that “the divide will become even wider” when William becomes king.

“William is done with Harry,” the source said.
