Whoopi Goldberg brags about huge ‘The View’ salary

Whoopi Goldberg said fans can’t fathom the salary she gets from being a co-host on “The View.”

Goldberg, 70, made an appearance on the “Baby, this is Keke Palmer” podcast that dropped Tuesday, and bragged that viewers wouldn’t be able to even imagine the check she gets from the gig, which she’s had since 2007.

“No, no, you can’t,” Goldberg told Palmer. “Trust me. You can’t. You would be shocked.”

 She added, “As soon as they showed you that check, you’d be like, ‘What the!?’”

Goldberg didn’t specify how much she makes, but she did imply the paycheck is massive.

The “Sister Act” star also revealed that “The View” isn’t even her highest-paying gig, though she didn’t name the role that paid her more.

She also stressed that she would be open to leaving her steady job at the ABC daytime talk show for the right opportunity.

“I constantly say to people, ‘Yes, I’m still open for this,’ and especially now because people say, ‘Well you’re on ‘The View,’ you can’t do anything’ — you know, if I need to go, I go.”

A source told Page Six Hollywood last month that several of “The View” hosts — Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin — have taken pay cuts since Season 29 premiered in September 2025.

Goldberg is making a mid-seven-figure salary and is the highest-paid in the group.

A source also said that the women’s wardrobe budget was affected, noting, “They’re all mad because they were all wearing really expensive designer clothes, and now it’s the same budget of a Wendy Williams-type show versus a marquee daytime show.”

“They keep downsizing and downsizing and downsizing.”

Meanwhile, Goldberg has been candid about staying at “The View” for the money. Back in November 2024, she insisted she had to “work for a living.”

“I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me too. I work for a living,” Goldberg said following a Hot Topic segment surrounding Donald Trump’s second presidency.

She added,  “If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, OK? So, I’m a working person, you know?”

On Tuesday’s episode of Palmer’s podcast, Goldberg doubled down on that notion despite previously receiving backlash and being called “tone-deaf.”

Goldberg said she didn’t know if she would still be on “The View” if she had an astronomical amount of money.

“A girl’s gotta eat,” she said. “I never married well, so, I still have to support myself.”
