Why Pete Davidson feels ‘guilty’ about girlfriend Elsie Hewitt’s pregnancy

Pete Davidson admitted he felt “guilty” for dragging his pregnant girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, into the spotlight for what should be a “beautiful experience.”

“I feel bad for my girl because I bring a lot of s–t,” the comedian shared on an episode of the “Breakfast Club” podcast last week.

“Anything we do or she does now is gonna be a thing,” he added, explaining he and the influencer are private people.

“I feel really bad because … she’s a very private person and she’s the one going through it. She’s the one doing all the work,” Davidson, 31, continued.

“It’s supposed to be a beautiful experience,” the “Saturday Night Live” alum said, insisting that Hewitt, 29, has “never made me feel this way or said anything” to influence his thoughts.

“But I feel so guilty and horrible that in any way, shape, or form … I could not allow her to have the ideal pregnancy that almost every woman gets to have and enjoy,” he added.

“Luckily, she loves me and knows what comes with me, and we’ve talked about it before we were fully in a relationship, but I really feel s–tty for her in that aspect,” Davidson said.

The actor revealed that Hewitt “didn’t want to post” her pregnancy announcement in July, but they “were not given a choice,” and they held off the announcement for as long as they could.

Last month, Hewitt took to Instagram to share that she and the “Suicide Squad” star were expecting their first child together, alongside a slew of photos and videos.

“welp now everyone knows we had sex,” she joked in the caption.

“Pete is so excited for this next chapter,” an insider told Page Six at the time. “His family is thrilled and can’t wait to become grandparents, aunts, etc.”

Hewitt notably announced the news after fans started speculating she was pregnant when she posted a bikini photo.

“New boobs or pregnant?” one person commented, as another added, “babes you either got new boobs or are preggo 👀.”

Page Six exclusively revealed that Davidson was dating someone new in March, and we later confirmed his mystery woman was Hewitt.

The couple took their romance public that same month when they were spotted being affectionate with each other in Palm Beach, Fla.
