Why Travis, Jason Kelce were surprised by mom Donna’s ‘fantastic’ ‘Traitors’ performance
** SPOILER ALERT **
They didn’t know she was trouble.
Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce were surprised by their mom Donna Kelce’s “fantastic” performance on Season 4 of “The Traitors.”
Jason, 38, joked to “New Heights” podcast listeners Wednesday that their mother was “way more deceitful and devious than” they’ve ever seen her.
His younger brother, 36, then gushed that he is “so proud of her, man.”
The Kansas City Chiefs player noted that the 73-year-old “looked like she was having a blast [and] enjoying” the show, which premiered last week.
“[She] showed everybody what she’s got,” Travis continued. “It was just so cool to see her in this moment.
“It was just so fun to see her out there, living out her dream, giving the world a beautiful message about being fortunate enough to do these things at her age and where she is in life,” the tight end added, praising their mother for standing “her ground at the roundtable.”
Travis specifically gave fellow contestant Ron Funches a shoutout for “sticking by [Donna’s] side and being kind to her” — but joked the comedian, 42, “probably felt a certain way after he found out she was the Secret Traitor.”
Jason agreed Donna did a “great job” despite being an “easy target,” saying he “loved watching her” compete on the Peacock series.
Donna was the fourth cast member to leave Scotland’s Ardross Castle when the first batch of episodes dropped Jan. 8, alongside Rob Cesternino, Porsha Williams and Ian Terry.
Before entering the castle, Donna made a dig at Travis and Jason’s ex-partners.
When asked who she would not want to see in the cast, Donna replied, “Maybe some of my sons’ adversaries.”
She clarified, “That could either be on other teams, or it could be coaches, or it could be past girlfriends.”
Her “Traitors” casting made headlines in June 2025.
The following month, Jason insisted to “Entertainment Tonight” that Donna was not as “manipulative and cunning” as “cutthroat” players need to be.
The ESPN analyst called Donna “too sweet and kind” to compete. However, he was swiftly proved wrong.
