“They work with such intention on the show and make all the choices that they make for that reason,” she noted. “So I think it’s better to ask them for answers.”

Ganesh chose to focus on the positive. “I’m going to treasure all the memories I had working with these two [Sepideh Moafi and Isa Briones] and everyone else,” she added. “It’s been so great just getting all the love from the fans. I feel sad for them, too, that they won’t get to see this character.”

Gemmill, for his part, wouldn’t give away whether more cast exits were coming.

“No, not necessarily,” he told Us. “I think it depends on what kind of stories we’re telling and what makes the most sense for the show.”

The producer also weighed in on the reaction to The Pitt losing fan-favorite characters, saying, “I think that’s a good sign. It means we’ve created characters that they feel passionate about, and between the writers and the directors and the actors themselves, I mean, that’s what our goal is, ultimately.”

Another reason viewers weren’t thrilled about Mohan’s exit was the unanswered question about a potential romance with Dr. Abbot (Shawn Hatosy). While speaking to Us, Gemmill didn’t rule out them getting together in the future.

“You never know,” he noted. “Never say never.”
