Will There Be a Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again? What We Know So Far About the Marvel Series’ Next Chapter

Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again has come to an end.
The Disney+ series, a reboot of the Netflix series Daredevil that ran from 2015 to 2018, first aired on March 4, 2025. It saw the return of the many original cast members, including Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Jon Bernthal and Charlie Cox, who stars as Matt Murdock, a.k.a. the man without fear, Daredevil.
After a 7-year hiatus, Daredevil was met with enthusiasm, with 7.5 million viewers tuning in to its first episode, per Forbes. The series picked up with Matt, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, as he continued to fight for justice through his law firm — all while ex-mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) pursued his own political endeavors in New York.
Although the two men tried to forge new paths and leave behind their violent personas, they inevitably found themselves stepping into their old roles as Daredevil and Kingpin. It was an action-packed season, culminating with a highly-anticipated finale on April 15.
So, will there be a season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again? Here’s everything we know so far.
Will there be a season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again?
Good news, Marvel fans! Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again has the green light.
According to Collider, season 1 was originally set to be 18 episodes. But, plans changed throughout production and executive producer Sana Amanat and showrunner Dario Scardapane shared that the original story had instead been broken into two seasons.
Ahead of the season 1 finale in April 2025, Amanat told Marvel that while she was “very happy” with how the show’s first chapter ended, she is especially excited for what’s still to come.
“Season 2 will hopefully be even more fun,” she said.
What will season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again be about?
While no official plot points for season 2 have been revealed yet, Cox and D’Onofrio — who read the script for six of the eight episodes — spoke to Screen Rant in March 2025 and teased what fans can expect.
“I don’t normally say this kind of thing; I always err on the side of caution — that’s some of my favorite stuff I’ve read of Daredevil,” Cox said.
D’Onofrio added, “I love where it’s going. It’s going to be quite something by the end of it … By the end of season 2, there’s something quite amazing I feel is going to happen.”
Although he has yet to read all the scripts, D’Onofrio teased an “intense” plot midway through the season.
“It’s going to be a lot of work,” he said. “We have a lot of work ahead of us. It’s going to be emotional and full of physical altercations … it’s going to be a crazy season.”
Who is in the cast of Daredevil: Born Again season 2?
Several familiar faces will return for season 2, including the stars themselves: Cox as Matt Murdock and D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, per Deadline.
They will be joined again by Woll and Bernthal, who portray Karen Page and Frank Castle, respectively, per Deadline. According to the outlet, Elden Henson — who plays Foggy Nelson — will also reprise his role.
Per The Wrap, Genneya Walton, who plays BB Urich, is also among the stars returning for season 2.
In April 2025, Wilson Bethel was seen on set, confirming his season 2 return as Bullseye.
As for the new faces joining the MCU, Deadline announced in February 2025 that Matthew Lillard — who is known for starring in 2002’s Scooby-Doo and the Scream franchise — is joining the Daredevil: Born Again cast in an undisclosed role for season 2.
Lillard will be joined by newcomer Lili Taylor, who gained acclaim for her role in 1996’s I Shot Andy Warhol, per Deadline.
Who is directing Daredevil: Born Again season 2?
Executive producer Brad Winderbaum, who is also the head of Marvel Television, told Collider that directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are set to direct a “block of episodes” in season 2.
Winderbaum explained to the outlet why Benson and Moorhead’s return is integral to the continuation of Daredevil’s story, saying, “They are fundamental in establishing the tone of Born Again. Those guys are tonal masters.”
He added, “The way they tell a story, they know how to pull the levers of drama and tension especially, like no one else.”
Although Winderbaum didn’t reveal which specific episodes the directing duo would helm, he wasn’t shy in singing their praise: “They’re amazing. I would work with them forever if I could.”
Meanwhile, Dario Scardapane will return as showrunner, per Deadline. As Cox told Screen Rant, Scardapane wrote the pilot and the last two episodes of season 2.
“What he’s done so far with this new season is so cool and so different and so sinister, and I’m really, really excited about it,” Cox said.
When did filming begin for Daredevil: Born Again season 2?
Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is already underway! Deadline reported in March 2025 that filming had begun in New York.
Amanat told Marvel that production on season 2 has “been great” — and teased some potential changes.
“We’ve been shooting a lot of crazy sequences. The crew is crushing it, and the action is nonstop,” she said. “The backdrop is a little different. It’s still New York, but it’s a slightly different kind of New York.”
Amanat added, “I’m very excited about the material we’ve been getting. I’ve been fangirling all week.”
When will Daredevil: Born Again season 2 be released?
Ahead of the season 1 premiere, Winderbaum told Screen Rant that an annual release is “the plan.”
“Season 2 will come out next year, and then, hopefully, season 3 and season infinity after that,” he told the outlet.
If that remains true, season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again will be released in 2026.
Where can I watch Daredevil: Born Again season 2?
Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again will be available to stream on Disney+ following its release. In the meantime, season 1 is available for as many rewatches as you please!
