The roundup of the most popular Hulu movies and TV shows isn’t as chaotic as some of its rival streamers like Netflix.

There is turnover every week, but the lineup is fairly consistent, and the projects that are in the top 15 movies and TV shows generally deserve to be there.

Heading into the weekend, the Watch With Us team has narrowed down the selection to three popular Hulu movies and TV shows you should watch right now.

Our picks for the week include an action thriller, a standout Marvel film and the second season of one of Hulu’s hit original series.

Hulu is serious about you renewing your subscription this June. How else can you explain the impressive lineup the streamer has for this month, with a solid mixture of new releases and timeless classics for your viewing pleasure? The big new movie this month is Predator: Killer of Killers, the latest entry in the nearly […]

‘Absolution’ (2024)

Liam Neeson‘s character in Absolution is never directly mentioned by name, which is an unusual choice even in an action thriller like this one. Neeson plays a former boxer turned criminal enforcer who discovers that he is suffering from a severe case of CTE and may not have much longer to live.

Before he dies, the old man wants to make things right with his estranged daughter, Daisy (Frankie Shaw), and his grandson, Dre (Terrence Pulliam). Neeson’s character is also pulled into one last job by his crime boss, Charlie Conner (Ron Perlman). But when a cargo run turns out to be a front for human trafficking, the old man will have some hard decisions to make about how far he’s willing to go to defy Charlie and protect his family.

‘Iron Man’ (2008)

Without Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. may not have regained his status in Hollywood or become one of the most highly-paid actors in the industry. And without Downey’s performance in this movie, there probably wouldn’t have been an MCU. As the first-ever Marvel Studios film, Iron Man is almost immaculate. It had such a great balance of humor, action and drama that almost every other Marvel movie since has tried to emulate its tone to varying degrees of success.

Hulu has always had an impressive library of original content that’s nicely complemented by shows from other networks, and the end of May is no exception. As we wrap up the month, Watch With Us is recommending you check out two returning series — one is a prestige drama starring Nicole Kidman, while the other […]

Since this was Marvel’s first chapter, it feels a lot more real and grounded than everything that came after. Tony Stark (Downey) is an amoral billionaire who creates weapons of mass destruction. But when Stark is kidnapped by terrorists and severely wounded, he grows a heart and builds the prototype for his Iron Man armor. The supporting cast — including Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, director Jon Favreau and Terrence Howard — are all terrific. If there were more Marvel movies half as good as this one, there wouldn’t be any superhero fatigue.

‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ (2021 – Present)

The second season of Nine Perfect Strangers is currently unfolding, so we can’t say for certain how it will end. But the setup is similar to season 1, which introduced Nicole Kidman as wellness expert and resort owner Masha Dmitrichenko. Masha’s reputation has taken a big hit after the events of the first season, which is why she’s relocated to the Swiss Alps for season 2.

As with the first season, there’s a strong lineup of supporting players, including Henry Golding, Mark Strong, Annie Murphy and Lena Olin as the clients that Masha wants to “help.” But if they knew the kind of help that Masha has been known to give, they may have been better off running for the exits.
