“90 Day Fiancé” star Jenny Slatten announced she has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

The TLC star told People on Tuesday that she got her diagnosis in December 2025, one year after starting to show frightening symptoms, which included choking “badly” while drinking water.

The 68-year-old also started to have trouble swallowing pills and began experiencing migraines.

Speaking to the outlet, she said that as her symptoms continued, she and her husband, Sumit Singh, assumed it was “some kind of infection.”

After initially taking medication that improved her health slightly, Slatten noticed her speech had started to slow down, causing her to shy away from conversations.

“That’s when we knew something was wrong,” Slatten told the outlet.

Shortly before she received her diagnosis, she traveled from India to New York City for a “90 Day Fiancé” holiday party, where her speech was noticeably slower.

After watching her interview, several fans of the show expressed concern for her health, but Singh, 38, admittedly just assumed his wife was tired due to lack of sleep.

But when one commenter suggested that Slatten could have ALS, Singh told the outlet he decided to look into the disease.

“And then I find out that these symptoms she was having — this is what it looks like.”

The duo was even more horrified once they remembered Slatten’s father had died of ALS more than a decade ago.

Upon returning to India, she and Singh met with several neurologists. At first, doctors believed she simply had “a little clot” in her brain. But a second opinion revealed Slatten had ALS.

“We cried and held each other,” she recalled of the moment they learned of her diagnosis, which has left them both “scared” for what their future will look like.

ALS is a fatal and progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, per the Mayo Clinic. The condition leads to muscle weakness, as well as loss of mobility and speech.

Doctors have told the pair that the progression of Slatten’s ALS “is slow.” For now, they are exploring possible treatments for the disease, which currently has no cure.

“Right now we’re just looking and searching,” she shared. By going public with her diagnosis, Slatten hopes “maybe somebody will come forward with something” that could help her.

“I don’t want to be treated any different,” Slatten insisted. “Let’s just live our life as we have been while we can.”

Slatten and Singh — who first appeared on “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” in 2019 — have been leaning on each other for support ever since learning of the heartbreaking diagnosis.

“Honestly, I never felt this much love, or I can love anyone this much,” Singh said. “I used to … live for myself. But from [the] last so many years, I feel like doing [things] for someone who you love gives you happiness, I think that’s what love is. And that’s why we do things for each other, and that’s what make each other happy.”

“And we’re happy that we’re together,” Slatten added.

After overcoming issues over their age gap and long-distance relationship, which played out on the reality TV show, the duo secretly tied the knot in August 2021.

Their intimate wedding was later televised during the Season 3 finale of “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” in November of that year.

They will appear on Season 3 of “90 Day: The Last Resort,” which premieres June 1 at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
