90 Day’s Sarper Feels ‘So Much Stress’ Since Meeting Shekinah, Says His ‘Happiness Level’ Is ’10 or 1′ but ‘Mostly a 1’ (Exclusive)
90 Day Fiancé’s Sarper is struggling with life in America.
After moving from his hometown in Turkey to Los Angeles, Sarper and Shekinah tell PEOPLE they are still adjusting to their new life. A self-proclaimed “professional narcissist,” Sarper says he finds himself missing his old life when things get tough in America.
“She has a problem, I have a problem,” he explains. “If she has happiness, I am more happy than her. Is it a good thing? I don’t know.”
“My life was peaceful,” he adds.
While Shekinah pushes back, telling Sarper his life was actually “very chaotic” before they met, he insists he had no worries back then.
“In my way it was peaceful,” he says. “Because I didn’t have any stress, I didn’t have any emotional chains. My life was at a happiness level of four, five, six. It was going [steady].”
“Right now, it’s 10 or one,” he continues, joking that it is, “Mostly a one.”
“That’s your fault if it’s a one,” Shekinah replies.
When he was single, Sarper says he was able to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted (he previously admitted to having a body count of nearly 3000 women). In addition to being “a serious relationship virgin” before Shekinah, he says moving to a different country where he can’t yet work or have a bank account makes the circumstances even more uncomfortable.
“I am with baby steps learning how to react, how to behave,” he notes. “I know one thing — I have to be loyal. I have commitment, and I am loyal to her. She said that to me. I was thinking that will be the biggest problem with us, but it’s not. It’s even the smallest thing.”
“I came here. I made a big gamble with my life. I left everything behind. I left an independent, free life,” he continued. “I have nothing here. I have nothing. And this is only for a woman. If somebody told me two years ago that I would change that much from a bad boy to this, I would laugh at them with my ass. But it happened for her, and that is the proof of love.”
With that love comes other emotions, though, and Sarper admits he questions his decision to move.
“I mean, am I resentful? Sometimes,” he confesses. “Not about her, but the serious relationship situation. It’s so overwhelming. A lot of responsibility. It’s new for me.”
“It’s good for you,” Shekinah chimes in. “You need responsibility in your life.”
Sarper also says “it doesn’t make sense” that he “can still be happy with” Shekinah despite the ups and downs in their relationship.
