Sam Asghari Admits Britney Spears Relationship Gave Him ‘Kick Start’ Because She’s ‘the Biggest Superstar in the World’

Sam Asghari is addressing how his relationship with ex-wife Britney Spears impacted his career. 

During the Monday, March 10 episode of Sirius XM’s The Nikki and Brie Show, the actor/model, 31, revealed how his marriage to the Princess of Pop, 43, made him more visible.

After host Brie Garcia asked Asghari — who starred on Season 3 of The Traitors — if he would “banish” someone (as contestants do in each episode) if they said he got his career because of someone he dated, he initially confirmed he would, but changed his response.

“It’s a hand to hand,” he said. “I mean, that’s what happened to me when I started acting. I’ve been an actor ever since high school. We met on a acting set with my last partner [Spears] who I was married to, but I couldn’t help that she was the biggest superstar in the world and that kind of gave me a kick start.”

Added Asghari: “So you know, it was both, so it’s not banished, but whatever, but what’s another you’re option if you don’t banish them?”

He further explained that there’s “a firm gray area” when it comes to fame.

“You know, everybody’s famous by association. You know, whether you work with something or you, it’s just how it is,” said Asghari.

Elsewhere in the interview, Asghari also said he would “banish” someone if they were lying about their “body count.”

“Absolutely. Of course. Yeah. It’s like a used car. You come over here, you can’t reverse the mileage on that car. That’s illegal. That’s against the law,” he said.

Asghari noted that “the lower” the number of partners someone has “the better.”

Spears and Asghari tied the knot in June 2022, in front of nearly 60 guests (including Madonna and Drew Barrymore) in Los Angeles, roughly nine months after announcing their engagement in September 2021.

The pair separated the following year and finalized their divorce in early May 2024.

Currently, Asghari is dating Brooke Irvine after the couple confirmed their relationship on Instagram in January 2025.
