‘Outrageous’ Star Joshua Sasse and Wife Louisa Split After 7 Years of Marriage ‘With Mutual Respect’

Outrageous star Joshua Sasse and his wife of seven years, Louisa Ainsworth, have called it quits.
“Earlier this year, after thoughtful consideration and with mutual respect, Louisa and I have come to the decision to part ways,” Sasse, 37, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, July 24. “This decision was not made lightly, but it comes from a place of love, care and a deep appreciation for the time we have shared together.”
He added, “Our children are of the highest importance and we are fully committed to coparenting them with stability and support. We very much appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy at this time.”
Sasse and Ainsworth got married in 2018, going on to welcome children Dominic and Delilah in 2020 and 2021, respectively. (Sasse is also father to son Sebastian from a previous relationship.)
Sasse and Ainsworth kept most of their relationship private and away from the public eye. He was previously engaged to Kylie Minogue before they called off their engagement in 2017.
“Thank you for all your love and support throughout this recent chapter of my life,” Minogue, now 57, wrote via Instagram in February 2017. “Thank you now for your love and understanding with the news that Josh and I have decided to go our separate ways. We wish only the best for each other as we venture towards new horizons.”
Sasse has since been mum about his past romance with both Minogue and Ainsworth, instead focusing on his acting career. Sasse mostly recently appeared as Oswald Mosley in Britbox’s Outrageous about the famed Mitford socialite siblings.
“I think what’s amazing is [the show] really is a love story between six sisters, where there are romances that come and go within the show,” series lead Bessie Carter, who portrays eldest sister Nancy, exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the June premiere. “I think what’s so brilliant and the main relationships we look at is these six sisters and how they are uneducated, they were not allowed to go to school very strictly, however, they had all this drive and passion and curiosity about the world.”
She added, “It’s kind of like Succession, how these familial dynamics get played out with huge consequences and they, sort of, didn’t really think or care about what the global consequences were. They were just driven by ‘Why can’t I do that? I have an intelligent brain and I want to put it to use.’ When that was reciprocated by these various places they found themselves in, then they used their brains. So, it’s fascinating how different they all were.”
Sasse’s character, meanwhile, ends up marrying Diana Mitford (Joanna Vanderham) following her divorce.
Outrageous is currently streaming on Britbox.
