- The rapper wow an energized crowd with an ode to ’90s hip-hop
- She ended her set by announcing that she’s going on tour in October
Doechii knows how to slay.
The rapper, 26, performed on the T-Mobile stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday, Aug. 2, delivering a flawless, mic-drop performance to a packed crowd.
After wowing the audience with a hit-filled set that was the ultimate love letter to ’90s hip-hop, rap and R&B, she announced that she’s hitting the road this fall. Doechii ended her set by telling the audience, “Before we get out of here, I want to make an announcement. I’m gonna be going on tour on Oct. 14. What’s up, y’all? Bye!”
Shortly after she left the stage, nearby monitors showed signage for the Live from the Swamp Tour. The footage also provided a website for fans, featuring a clock counting down until Monday, Aug. 4, when tickets and dates are expected to be unveiled.
Before closing out her 50-minute set, Doechii made sure to use every minute to keep fans engaged. Not only did she run through hits like “Nissan Altima,” “Anxiety” and “Denial Is a River,” she also poked fun at her Met Gala umbrella outburst by having JT emerge from behind the props to perform their duet, “Alter Ego.”
Doechii’s tour announcement was just one of many highlights and unexpected moments to take place during the four-day festival, which kicked off on Thursday, July 31, with Tyler, the Creator as one of the headliners.
That same night, Gracie Abrams brought out Robyn for a duet of “Dancing on My Own.”
On Friday, Aug. 1, when Olivia Rodrigo headlined, the “Vampire” singer brought out Weezer as her surprise guest, while Korn made their return to the festival after 28 years.
That same day, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was spotted among the packed crowd at T-Pain’s performance on the Bud Light stage.
While Doechii was the clear highlight — garnering the same kind of festival attention Chappell Roan did the previous summer — Winnetka Bowling League poked fun at Benson Boone by bringing out a lookalike who failed to land the “Mystical Magical” singer’s signature flips.
On Aug. 2, TWICE made history as the first all-female K-pop group to headline the festival. The women also broke the internet when Momo and Nayeon delivered their now-infamous dance break and twerked for the crowd.
Many of the best moments — particularly those on the T-Mobile and Lakeshore stages — could be seen from the sponsors’ cabanas, including Dove, which brought its Hot Seats campaign to the festival after first appearing at Coachella and Charli xcx’s Sweat and Brat tours.
The whole weekend, they provided concert goers with the Whole Body Deo collection, so they could rock out to Doechii, Rodrigo, 22, as well as A$AP Rocky and Sabrina Carpenter, who are closing out Lollapalooza 2025 on Sunday, Aug. 3.
