Trinity Rodman Joyfully Celebrates Boyfriend Ben Shelton’s First Masters Win

Trinity Rodman is Ben Shelton’s number one fan.

The soccer star, 23, uploaded a video of herself watching her tennis player boyfriend, 22, take home his first ATP Masters 1000 title with his victory at Canada’s National Bank Open against Karen Khachanov in Toronto on Thursday, Aug. 7.

Rodman, who’s been dating Shelton since March 2025, shared two posts on her Instagram Stories the night of the match. The first was a clip of her live reaction to his win and the second featured a heartfelt tribute.

“I watch you every day work your ass off. I see everyone who doubts you,” began Rodman, who penned the note on her Stories alongside a repost of Tennis TV’s Instagram marking Shelton’s win.

She added, “You are so inspirational and I’ve never been filled with this much joy. I love you and you are HIM ❤️ onto the next babe.”

In her video, Rodman narrated the match between Shelton and Khachanov as it happened live. She appeared to be visibly nervous with anticipation as she watched, covering her mouth with her hand before flipping the camera to the TV screen to capture her boyfriend’s win.

“Guys serving for the match, first Masters 1000,” she said in the clip. “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh.”

Shelton’s opponent hits the ball into the net — and naturally, the USWNT star erupted into cheers of excitement in support of her victorious partner.

The tennis champ, meanwhile, reciprocated his appreciation for Rodman by reposting her uploads to his own Instagram Stories. In overlaying text, he called her his world with emojis, writing, “My 🌎❤️.”

Shelton’s win marks a career-high World No. 6 for the player, who’s become the youngest American ATP Masters 1000 champion in two decades. The last was 21-year-old Andy Roddick when he won the 2004 Miami title.

“It’s a surreal feeling,” Shelton said after his victory. “It’s been a long week, not an easy path to the final. My best tennis came out when it mattered most. I was clutch, I persevered, I was resilient. All the qualities I like to see in myself.”

Since Shelton and Rodman went public with their relationship earlier this year, the athletic power couple hasn’t shied away from showing their support for each other in their respective sports.

Prior to making her victorious return to the soccer field with the Washington Spirit after a months-long hiatus to rehab her back, Rodman shared a glimpse of her summer with Shelton on her Instagram.

The then-sidelined soccer star shared a carousel of photos on July 14, picturing her recent activities both on and off the field. In one photo, she’s seen rehabbing her back — and in another, she’s seen loving on the Wimbledon quarterfinalist against a scenic backdrop.

Clad in a green bikini, the Washington Spirit forward playfully held the tennis star’s arms, while in a second photo, the couple kissed with their arms wrapped around one another.

“Not the summer that I had in mind but still loved every moment ❤️,” she alongside the pics. “Can’t wait to be back on the field.”
