How Meghan Markle spent ‘beautiful’ 44th birthday
Make a wish!
Meghan Markle shared a glimpse into her birthday festivities with husband Prince Harry after turning 44 on Monday.
A photo showed the Duchess of Sussex blowing out the candles on a flower-adorned cake while dining at Beverly Hills hotspot Funke with loved ones.
“Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours, and thanking my husband, friends and family for making it so special,” she captioned the snap on Instagram.
“To those of you I don’t know, but who send love every day – thank you so much. Please know I feel it and appreciate it,” Markle added.
The “With Love, Meghan” star also got “a little foodie” as she shared a shout-out to the celebrity-loved LA restaurant.
“This dinner last night at @funke_la with the culinary mastery of @evanfunke and his team is in the top five meals of my life,” she gushed.
“Extraordinary … Thank you for a standout dining experience.”
The “Suits” alum’s birthday celebration came after former Times royal correspondent Valentine Low spoke about the alleged abuse Markle’s past employees endured while working for her.
Last week, Low claimed on Kinsey Schofield’s “Unfiltered” podcast that the “very fragile” staff members “were very worried about what Meghan would do to them” before anonymously sharing their alleged experiences in his 2022 book, “Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown.”
The author also claimed that if Markle and Harry, 40, “were difficult to work for then, they’re difficult to work for now.”
The As Ever founder’s rep blasted the allegations in a statement to Page Six, claiming Low “continues to desperately recycle false, offensive, and long-discredited allegations in an apparent bid to sell books and resuscitate relevance” as part of a “broader and deeply troubling agenda.”
Her spokesperson added, “The Duchess has faced years of unfounded attacks masked as journalism in a never-ending smear campaign. … Meghan remains undeterred by the noise and firmly focused on her family and work.”
