The TikTok sensation and world-renowned vocal coach made her Broadway debut in & Juliet on Tuesday, Aug. 7, kicking off a limited 13-week engagement in the hit musical as Juliet’s nurse, ‘Angélique.’
“I can’t believe my first WEEK on BROADWAY is already in the books!! 😍🎭✨,” Porter wrote on Instagram on Monday, Aug 11. “8 shows down and I’m feeling all the emotions!!!”
“It’s been such a joy stepping on stage every night as Angelique and sharing this incredible show with you all! 🎉🌟,” she continued. “THANK YOU to all my beautiful friends and sweethearts who came out to cheer me on and support this week, seeing and meeting you has meant the WORLD to me. 🤩💖💖❤️.”

Alongside her words, Porter shared a series of selfie’s backstage at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York City — including one alongside Tony Award nominee Jeannette Bayardelle, whom she replaced in the role.
“Here’s to many more weeks of laughter, music, and BROADWAY MAGIC!!! 💫🥳💖🗽,” Porter said. “Love you all!!”
Known to her millions of followers as “Mama Cheryl,” Porter has captivated audiences worldwide with her dynamic vocal coaching and infectious energy. A trained opera singer turned gospel and jazz artist, she created the Cheryl Porter Vocal Method, growing her online presence to more than 38 million followers across TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.
Those supporters, and her students, were at the top of Porter’s mind as she made her Broadway debut. On Instagram, she said they “lifted me up and pushed me to keep going.”
“I’d be nowhere without you,’ Porter wrote. “So please, reach for those dreams that feel impossible… because LOOK AT ME. It’s POSSIBLE BABY!!!”
“Little Cheryl would be in tears seeing who she became,” she added.
Porter joined & Juliet alongside Tony Award-winner James Monroe Iglehart, who steps into the role of ‘Lance’ (which has been played in recent weeks by *NSYNC singer Joey Fatone).
The current Broadway company of & Juliet includes Gianna Harris (as ‘Juliet’) Alison Luff (as ‘Anne’), Drew Gehling (as ‘Shakespeare’), Michael Iván Carrier (as ‘May’), Liam Pearce (as ‘Romeo’) and Nathan Levy (as ‘François’).
Gabe Amato, Daniel Assetta, Reese Britts, Nicholas Cooper, Charli D’Amelio, Jhailyn Paige Farcon, Makai Hernandez, Joomin Hwang, Elsa Keefe, Alaina Ví Maderal, Daniel J. Maldonado, Mackenzie Meadows, Alejandro MullerDahlberg, Cassie Silva, TJ Tapp, Zalah Vallien, Darien Van Rensalier and Romy Vuksan complete the cast.
& Juliet imagines what would happen if the title heroine from William Shakespeare’s classic romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet would have survived and gotten to live and love as she pleased.
The comedy — with a hilarious book by David West Read, the Emmy-winning writer from Schitt’s Creek — is set to a score of pop anthems by prolific producer Max Martin, including those made popular by Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Bon Jovi, Ariana Grande, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC and Robyn.
Since opening at Broadway’s Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York City in November 2022, & Juliet has remained one of the hottest tickets on the boards.
It’s become a smash around the world, too. By spring 2025, the musical — directed by Luke Sheppard, will have taken center stage across nine countries and four continents since its West End debut in 2019.
The high-energy pop musical launched its first North American tour in fall 2024, with stops in more than 30 U.S. cities scheduled through this year. The show is also making global moves with a U.K. tour that began in July 2024 and a German production set to open in October. And this December, the musical will return to its first North American stage with a new run at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre.
Tickets to & Juliet are on sale now.
