See Who Won PEOPLE’s Readers’ Choice Sports Poll

Published

on

You guys are goals! More than 25,000 PEOPLE readers took our poll about all things sports, weighing in on topics as important as “most stylish NFL WAG” and “cutest athlete couple.” And just like in sports, there were some nailbiting finishes, a few major upsets and a whole lot of victory laps to take. Read on to see who you voted for — and came out on top — in our PEOPLE Readers’ Choice Sports poll.

Best Sports Podcast: Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce, New Heights

The Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast (which competed against Andy Roddick’s Served, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski’s Dudes on Dudes and Kara Goucher and Des Linden’s Nobody Asked Us) was already pretty popular well before they had a particularly attention-getting guest last month.

Best-Dressed WAG: Taylor Swift

That attention-getting guest? None other than Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s No. 1 fan, fiancée, and — oh yeah — Grammy-winning global superstar with an album dropping next month. She faced stylist competition in this category from Olivia Culpo, Alix Earle and Ciara.

Cutest Athlete Couple: Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd

Dallas Wings superstar Paige Bueckers and her former UConn Huskies teammate might have hard launched their relationship accidentally this summer, but since then, they’ve been all-in in the public eye. Similarly cute (and athletically gifted) couples they beat in the category include Bam Adebayo and A’ja Wilson, Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes, and Trinity Rodman and Ben Shelton.

Sexiest Sports Broadcaster: Kay Adams

If you’re going to deliver the latest in sports news, you might as well look good doing it — as Kay Adams (as well as her competition, Brady Quinn, Tom Brady and Erin Andrews) can attest.

Who Should Join Dancing with the Stars: Ali Krieger

She didn’t make it to Season 34 of DWTS this fall, but ABC casting staff, take note: PEOPLE readers think the soccer player would kick butt. (She beat out fellow fleet-footed athletes Camryn Bynum, Justin Jefferson and Isaac Rochell.)

Best Tunnel Fits: Jalen Hurts

Getting the conversation going well before he hits the field comes second nature to Jalen Hurts, who PEOPLE readers determined to have the most stylish pregame attire, over Joe Burrow, Odell Beckham Jr. and Patrick Mahomes.

Sexiest Man in the NBA: Devin Booker

You heard it from his ex Kendall Jenner first: Devin Booker is the guy to eye in the NBA — though fellow basketball-playing hotties

Olympian You Want to Be BFFs with: Ilona Maher

Ever since the Olympics, we’ve been exhibiting pick me energy in Ilona Maher’s Instagram comments, hoping to be part of her squad (rugby or otherwise) — and PEOPLE voters agreed. (Though Stephen Nederoscik, Suni Lee and Alex Hall are certainly welcome to join the group chat.)

Best Sports TV Show of All Time: Ted Lasso

You better “Believe” this was a tight race between Ted Lasso, Friday Night Lights, Cobra Kai and America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, but in the end, it squeaked by the goalkeeper to give a win to the fish-out-of-football-stadium AppleTV+ show.

Best Sports Comfort Movie: Happy Gilmore

When you need to go to your happy place, you don’t need to imagine Julie Bowen holding pitchers of beer in lingerie — you just turn on the original Happy Gilmore, which beat out Bend it Like Beckham, Remember the Titans and A League of Their Own in this category.

Best Post-Retirement Second Act: Dwayne Johnson

The artist formerly known as “The Rock” crumbled at the Venice Film Festival this week, growing visibly emotional at the standing ovation he received for The Smash Machine. With Oscar buzz swirling, it’s no surprise he took this category over fellow post-sports superstars Michael Strahan, Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir and Shawn Johnson East.

Hottest Football Coach: Marcus Freeman

He’s got the look of the Irish! PEOPLE readers voted Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman to be the sexiest guy on the sidelines, over gridiron gorgeousness from the Packers’ Matt LaFleur, the Eagles’ Nick Sirianni and the Giants’ Gabe Kapler.

Knockout Boxer: Michael B. Jordan (Creed)

Russell Crowe (Cinderella Man), Jake Gyllenhaal (Southpaw) and Will Smith (Ali) put up a good fight, but eventually got TKO’ed by Michael B. Jordan in the Rocky sequel Creed.
