Chrissy Teigen reflects on her friendship with ‘polarizing’ Meghan Markle

Chrissy Teigen does not understand why pal Meghan Markle receives so much hate.
“I adore her. I really adore her. I think she is so incredibly strong,” Teigen, 39, told People of Markle over the weekend. “It is insane to me how polarizing she is for so many different people.”
According to the model, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, “is just such a kind, good person” who “wants the best” for “all her friends,” the “people around her,” “her own relationship” and “her children.”
Teigen argued that Markle lives “simply,” adding that “people come up with all these different things that she could be about or what she wants … [but] it’s not that complicated.”
The cookbook author continued, “People are always going to read into what they want to read into, and they’re going to hyperfocus into what they want to believe. … People are just going to come up with their own story.”
Teigen, whose reputation never fully recovered since her past cyberbullying posts resurfaced in 2021, admires the way the renegade royal tunes out all the negativity.
“I think it’s cool that [Markle] is just like, ‘Listen, say whatever you want. I’m happy and I’m healthy and I feel good,’” the wife of John Legend marveled.
Teigen and Legend share daughters Luna, 9, and Esti, 2, as well as sons Miles, 7, and Wren, 2, while Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, are parents to Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
When asked whether the families get together for playdates, Teigen quipped that she doesn’t “leave the house.”
“I’m not joking,” she insisted with a laugh. “I don’t go anywhere. I try to do every photo shoot, everything at our house. So, no. But if the time came up, absolutely.”
As for Markle, she and Harry stepped down from their royal duties and moved from the UK to the US in 2020 after much public scrutiny. However, the move only gave critics more ammo.
The former actress now stars in her own lifestyle series, which Teigen recently appeared in as a guest. Many outraged viewers had a “major problem” with the cameo.
“How can Meghan Markle associate with Chrissy Teigan [sic], a self confessed online bully and troll when she purports to support the Parents Network who are campaigning against this very thing?” one dissenter previously wondered.
