Kat Stickler had date with mystery man before John Mayer outing

Kat Stickler was spotted on a date night with a mystery man just days before reports emerged that she’s dating John Mayer.

In a TikTok video shared by Stickler on Sept. 28, the content creator, 30, was seen wearing a sheer black top layer over a black bra, while rummaging in a black leather purse at an outdoor restaurant. “Oh no don’t worry I got it,” she wrote atop a clip of a man across the table — who was only shown from the chin down.

The hilarious video concluded with Stickler pulling a small brown dog out of her bag — instead of her wallet. “No I know,” she captioned the upload, which she set to Kelly Clarkson’s hit “Breakaway.”

Fans immediately speculated that her date — who wore a black polo shirt and rocked a slightly greying goatee — was Mayer, 47.

“So this is John Mayer,” one person wrote, while another remarked, “John Mayer — damn girl. I just heard the tea.”

Others were surprised by Stickler’s dog-in-the-purse gag. “You could have given me 1k guesses and NONE of them would have been a purse dog,” one social media user wrote. Another chimed in, “He really thought for a second she was worried about the bill,” alongside laughing emojis.

Some followers weren’t sure whether the man in Stickler’s TikTok was the “Gravity” hitmaker.

“Definitely not John Mayer,” a follower wrote, with another adding, “I don’t think it is, John Mayer doesn’t grow as much chin facial hair and his is darker than this man’s is. Also this man does not have a cleft chin like John does.”

Reps for Mayer and Stickler did not immediately return Page Six’s requests for comment.

A source told Us Weekly on Monday that Mayer and Stickler are spending time together. “John sought her out and pursued her,” an insider told the outlet.

“Kat just broke up with someone she had been dating for a few months and thought it would be fun to date again, and was interested in John.”

Though the reported relationship is “still very new,” the pair has been spotted out a couple of times — Deuxmoi reported that the couple was seen at a private club in New York City last Friday, sitting on the same side of the booth and being “very touchy.” The pair was photographed hanging out at Flyfish Club the following evening, heightening dating speculation.

“He has been actively pursuing her, inviting her places and texting her often,” Us Weekly’s source divulged. “She is interested and seeing where it goes.”

While the internet personality “doesn’t think this will be a serious relationship,” the source shared that she’s “having fun” spending time with the “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer.

Mayer has previously been linked to a long list of A-list love interests, including Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, among others.

Stickler previously dated “The Bachelorette” alum Jason Tartick, and shares daughter MK with ex-husband Mike Stickler.

“I am sad to share that Kat and I are no longer together,” Tartick wrote via Instagram Stories in October 2024. “It’s fair to say that I love hard with all my heart and fall fast. Sometimes in life, that works out and other times it doesn’t. This time it didn’t.”

Stickler, for her part, also took to Instagram to confirm the split, which she described as “amicable.” However, she said, it “just didn’t work.”
