Sarah Paulson tears up discussing Diane Keaton’s death at ‘All’s Fair’ premiere

Sarah Paulson got emotional over her close friend Diane Keaton’s death at Thursday’s “All’s Fair” premiere.

The actress teared up on the red carpet as she discussed the passing of her “very dear friend” for the first time.

“It’s not something I’m able to talk about yet,” the “American Horror Story” alum, 50, admitted to Access Hollywood at the Los Angeles event. “But all I can say … which is important to me to communicate [is that] what you thought she was as a performer, she was even more spectacular as a human being.”

She called herself “the luckiest person in the world to have had [Keaton] in [her] life the way that [she] did.”

Paulson and the journalist embraced at the end of the interview.

Additionally, the Emmy winner opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about losing Keaton on Saturday at age 79.

“I was incredibly close to her, and this is a profoundly sad time for me,” Paulson explained. “I can’t talk about it in any way that’s articulate.”

She doubled down on her previous sentiment, gushing, “For all you knew and loved about her as a performer, she was even more as a friend.”

Keaton’s passing made headlines over the weekend, with her family later revealing that the “Annie Hill” star’s cause of death was pneumonia.

Reports have surfaced — and friends have confirmed — that Keaton’s health “declined very suddenly” as she suffered from a mystery illness.

Paulson did not immediately issue a statement mourning Keaton but was photographed visiting the “Father of the Bride” star’s Los Angeles home on Saturday.

The “American Crime Story” alum appeared visibly emotional as she gathered with others at the residence.

Last month, Paulson gushed about her bond with Keaton at Chanel’s Through Her Lens luncheon, explaining that they met filming “The Other Sister” in 1999.

“She really took me under her wing and we’ve been really good friends ever since,” the Tony winner recalled during the September sitdown. “I feel very lucky.”

Keaton is survived by two children — daughter Dexter, 29, and son Duke, 25.
