‘American Pie’ star Shannon Elizabeth talks Simon Borchert divorce after joining OnlyFans
Shannon Elizabeth is “happier” after splitting from her husband, Simon Borchert.
The “American Pie” star broke her silence on her divorce after announcing earlier this week that she’s joining OnlyFans.
“I’ve been separated since September of last year, and this has been a thoughtful, ongoing process — not something that happened in the past few days,” the actress clarified to Us Weekly on Thursday.
The 52-year-old added, “The meaningful pieces are already behind me, and only the formalities remain.”
Elizabeth went on to tell the outlet how “genuinely excited” she is about this “new chapter” of her life.
“I feel stronger, clearer, and happier than I have in a very long time,” she concluded.
Page Six has reached out to Elizabeth’s rep for comment.
Page Six broke the news on Wednesday that Elizabeth filed divorce documents the previous day.
“The divorce is fresh,” our insider exclusively shared, dubbing Elizabeth “freshly single.”
Meanwhile, a source told People Elizabeth “wants to have a bit more freedom and be wild” following the breakup.
Elizabeth tied the knot with Borchert in 2021, six years after meeting the conservation specialist.
In an interview last April, Elizabeth raved about her now-estranged husband, whom she called her “soulmate.”
“I felt so lucky to find him because we’re mirror images of each other,” she shared at the time. “We want the same things, and we’re so aligned with everything that we love in the world and love in this universe.”
This is Elizabeth’s second divorce as she was previously married to fellow actor Joseph D. Reitman from 2002 until 2006.
The “Celebrity Big Brother” alum, who lives in South Africa, is joining OnlyFans to take control of her narrative.
“I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled … the outcome of my career. This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen and being closer to my fans,” she dished to People on Wednesday.
In a separate statement to Page Six, Elizabeth said her OnlyFans offers “a behind the scenes, unfiltered look at [her] life and a genuine connection that no other platform allows.”
