Ariana Grande Ditches Pink Ensembles for a Dramatic Black Dress at the ‘Wicked: For Good’ Premiere
Ariana Grande delivered drama at the Wicked: For Good premiere.
Grande, 32, showed off her figure in a black beaded number while attending the Wicked: For Good premiere in London on Monday, November 10. For the screening, she stunned in a glamorous look featuring a one-shoulder neckline with a puffy sleeve. The bodice cascaded into a voluminous A-line skirt finished with gems, ruffles and a stunning train.
The actress elevated her look with a diamond necklace and matching rings.
For glam, Grande opted for a full beat, including filled-in eyebrows, long, flirty lashes and soft eyeshadow. The rest of her makeup included blushed and bronzed cheeks, a contoured nose and lined, glossy lips. Her freshly dyed brunette hair was parted to the side and slicked back in an updo with her bangs pushed over her forehead.
Grande posed with costar Cynthia Erivo, who rocked a navy blue look that was just as dramatic.
Erivo, 38, commanded attention in a strapless silk dress finished with a patent leather stripe across her skirt. She teamed the fabric with a long-sleeved shawl and a long belt that snatched her waist.
She accessorized her look with diamond jewelry, including dangling earrings and a matching septum piercing. Her glam was just as dazzling, rocking silver eyeshadow, extra-long eyelashes and pink lips.
The duo held hands on the red carpet and beamed for the cameras.
Grande’s dark look comes as a major change from her Wicked press tour ensembles, which included Glinda-inspired pink dresses, a butter yellow look — which paid homage to an outfit that her character wore on Broadway — gingham prints and more.
While playing Glinda, Grande has been open about the character’s makeup, and how it influenced her own.
“This makeup made me transform my entire look and my entire relationship to makeup,” she said while getting ready to film in a November 2024 Instagram clip. “I just love it so much. Love, love, love.”
She continued, “There’s no thick eyeliner, there’s no heavy crease, it’s just really warm and open and pretty.”
While she ditched her sharp winged eyeliner that she was known for, Grande still felt like the softer glam was true to herself. “The lashes are in a cat [eye] shape, which still gives you the cat eye lift that I usually love, but it’s a more honest representation of what you look like,” she explained.
Grande then went in with extra bronzer and joked that Glinda and Elphaba are two “contoured” witches.
She also shared that between makeup, getting her wig installed and tattoo coverup, Grande still takes “the least amount of time” to get ready “out of the whole cast.” She noted that how many of her tattoos get covered up — which include sparkles, Harry Potter references, a moon, her dogs’ names and more — depends on which costume she’s wearing and how much skin shows.
Wicked: For Good hits theaters on November 21.
