Ozzy Osbourne’s Merch Store Launches ‘Another Prick in the Wall’ Roger Waters Diss Shirt After Rocker’s Viral Comments
NEED TO KNOW
- Ozzy Osbourne’s website is selling merch that pokes fun at Pink Floyd rocker Roger Waters
- Waters made dismissive comments about Osbourne shortly after his death in July
- The shirt calls Waters “Another Prick in the Wall,” a nod to the Pink Floyd song “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2”
Ozzy Osbourne’s family is hitting back at Roger Waters’ viral comments about the late rocker with some cheeky merch.
Months after Waters, 82, said in an interview that he “couldn’t give a f—” about Ozzy’s band Black Sabbath, the star’s official shop released a T-shirt taking aim (somewhat literally) at Waters.
The back of the shirt features someone in an Ozzy tee urinating a rainbow onto what appears to be the cover of Waters’ 1990 album The Wall: Live in Berlin.
“Another Prick in the Wall,” the shirt says, in Pink Floyd font, a nod to the band’s 1979 song “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2.” The front, meanwhile, features the same album cover with “OZZY RULES” graffitied over it in large type.
“Well… Ozzy RULES, and that’s all we have to say,” the description of the shirt — which is only available for 48 hours — reads.
The feud began in August, when Pink Floyd musician Waters expressed his disdain for Sabbath in an interview with The Independent Ink just weeks after Ozzy’s death on July 22 at age 76.
“I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did. I have no interest. I couldn’t care less,” he said. “Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him, in his whatever that state that he was in his whole life. We’ll never know, we didn’t, you know? Although he was all over the TV for hundreds of years with his idiocy and nonsense.”
In September, Ozzy’s son Jack, 40, responded in a statement shared to his Instagram Stories.
“Hey @rogerwaters. F— You. How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become,” he wrote. “The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bulls— in the press.”
“My father always thought you were a c— – thanks for proving him right 🤡,” he added, before posting a second Instagram Story that said, “# f—rogerwaters.”
On The Osbournes podcast in November, Jack, his mom Sharon, 73, and sister Kelly, 41, further discussed their dislike of Waters, with Sharon calling him “one of the most twisted, sick individuals I’ve come across in years.”
“He thinks he’s so superior to everybody and his superiority complex is just so repulsive,” said Kelly, while her mom added that Waters is “boring” with “no charisma [and] no stage presence.”
Jack, meanwhile, said he found it “funny” that “probably the most press he’s had in years was me responding to him.”
“Dad would always be like, ‘I love Pink Floyd, I f—ing hate Roger Waters.’ But Dad would never say that publicly, because you don’t do that,” said Jack. “All [Waters] would’ve had to say was, you know, ‘I didn’t really know Ozzy’s music very well. It’s sad for his family.’ That’s all he had to say. You keep it simple, you keep it clean, you don’t punch down like he did.”
Ozzy’s death came just weeks after he performed from a throne at the final Black Sabbath concert in Birmingham. He died of a heart attack after years of health woes that included Parkinson’s disease.
