Carrie Underwood ‘looks like a different person’ as she reveals dramatic new hair
They’re “Blown Away” by her blowout.
Carrie Underwood’s fans were totally taken aback after she debuted a new hair transformation.
The singer, known for having voluminous blond waves, posted a selfie to her Instagram Friday in which she was seen with darker, flatter hair.
“Every child deserves hope,” she captioned the photo. “Become a Partner in Hope with @stjude and get your @musicgives shirt at musicgives.org and help kids facing cancer. ❤️”
While some social media users commended the “American Idol” alum’s fundraising efforts, others pointed out that she didn’t quite look like herself.
“Still very pretty but looks like a different person,” one person commented on the post.
“Who is this?!” a confused fan questioned.
“Is this Carrie? Doesn’t look like her,” another agreed.
“I miss the original Carrie look,” a critic chimed in, with someone else writing, “I miss your blonde hair.”
Others were more supportive of Underwood’s darker hair color and applauded the makeover.
“Your brown hair is beautiful Carrie,” a supporter commented.
“I love your hair color. Brings out your eyes and natural beauty!” a second person cheered.
“Love your hair. I’m wanting to go darker as well! Your [sic] an inspiration , thank you for all that you do! ❤️,” a fan gushed.
“This Hair looks stunning on you 😍,” someone added.
As Page Six reported, Underwood ditched her platinum blond hair and opted for a more natural honey hue in August.
“Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
“Thanks, @hairbykatelin_ at @parlour3beauty for helping me get back to my roots!” she added.
The “Sunday Night Football” headliner, 42, has addressed her changing appearance in the past. In 2017, the singer revealed she had to get 40 stitches in her face due to a nasty fall.
She expressed her fear that the public wouldn’t recognize her while appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” the following year.
“I feel like I do [look different] a little bit,” she said at the time. “My biggest worry at the time was like, if I say nothing then later on…I feel like people are gonna say, ‘What has she done to herself electively?’ And it definitely was not a choice.”
A few months later, Underwood was back in the studio and feeling much more like herself.
